Wouldn't surprise me.

...and even if he had stayed completely healthy all year he probably wouldn't have started 72 games. I count 20 pairs of back-to-back games on the Rockets schedule, and they said in preseason he wouldn't play both games of back-to-backs.

there were plenty of warnings and history about guys that are over 7'0" tall. Can't stay healthy.

He is no where near a draft bust. This is his 9th year in the league. 1 season his missed entirely with the foot injury. 4 seasons he has played in over 93% of the team's games. The other 3 seasons he played in no less than 57% of the team's games. When he was healthy and playing, he was one of if not the best true center in the league. If you are the best or one of the best at your position when you are playing, then that does not qualify as a draft bust. I would just call it a disappointing career injury wise.

A lot of people call Bill Walton a bust. Do you?

For the record, I don't think either one is a bust. I do think the Rockets should have cut Yao loose a long time ago, his contract is a monkey on the back of that franchise.

Are those people mental retarded? How is a guy that wins 2 NBA championship, an MVP and a Finals MVP = bust?

That's what is so weird about it. I think people see that he's not high in stat totals and that's as far as they look. Dominant while he played though.

Robinson was over 7' and he was fine. Same with Ewing. Shaq was 7'2" and he was healthy for most of his career until the end.

It's the guys who are 7'4" and above that have problems.
