The guy is NOT a good FT shooter, turns the ball over ton and isn't able to elevate his game when it matters. Just another ubertalented nose bleed.

Yeah... 80% at the charity stripe... might as well be Shaq.

Show me a stat where he has been 80% at any year in his career and I'll admit I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. For his talent level, he should be hitting 85%. As it is, he will have to be the second or third option during playoff time because of his allergy to ft shooting.

This year he's shooting 79.7%... ok my bad not 80% but PRACTICALLY 80%. He's been above 75% 5 of the 8 seasons in the league. But he's a terrible FT shooter because he's not 85% from the stripe? Ok. As a SF and focal point of the ball, his Assist to TO ratio is good at 2:1 and, although he flopped in the Boston series, he's shown countless times that he can and does indeed elevate his game 'when it matters'.

Lots of reasons to criticize Lebron but your post is completely full of fail.

He is shooting 79.7% this season, his best year so far. He, Wade, and Bosh are all under 80% career FT shooters, so I guess you want the ball in Eddie House's hands in crunch time.

True, but he's improved, and is now shooting nearly 80%. 80% is a pretty good percentage for someone his size. I think you're nitpicking a bit when you talk about how bad the best player in the NBA is over a 5-8% free throw shooting disparity.

Assist:TO ratios

LeBron James: 2.12
Michael Jordan: 1.94
Kobe Bryant: 1.61
Magic Johnson: 2.89

Compared to other SF's

Larry Bird: 2.01
Julius Erving: 1.31
Scottie Pippen: 1.73
Paul Pierce: 1.27
Dominique Wilkins: 1.00
James Worthy: 1.50

Only Magic Johnson had a better assist to turnover ratio.

LeBron James:
Regular Season: 27.7 ppg
Postseason: 29.3 ppg

Kobe Bryant:
Regular Season: 25.3 ppg
Postseason: 25.5 ppg

Larry Bird:
Regular Season: 24.3 ppg
Postseason: 23.8 ppg

Michael Jordan:
Regular Season: 30.1 ppg
Postseason: 33.4 ppg

Magic Johnson:
Regular Season: 19.5 ppg
Postseason: 19.5 ppg

Only Michael Jordan was able to elevate his game more in the playoffs.

As though this thread started in a logical place. It was a random bashing thread based on an overrated team failing to mesh (in the first 9 games of the season) and probably partially on Lebron's off-the-court comments.

Lebron is a solid FT shooter who has an outstanding A/T ratio and has consistently elevated his game in the playoffs.

didn't it start in 07 when the cavs got swept in the finals?

Don't forget how he quit in the playoffs last year against the Celtics.

In '07 a rotten Cavs team got swept by the dominant Spurs. No team that has Donyell Marshall logging big minutes has any business in the playoffs, let alone the finals.

The best thing is that he and Wade have the exact same game, so it's one or the other.

This just isn't true at all. The problem with Lebron is that he's been miscast in a lot of people's eyes. He's not at his best playing Jordan, he's at his best playing Magic. Does he need the ball in his hands to be effective? To an extent yes, but he's at his best when he's able to distribute and take his points when he needs to. Wade can't do that. But what Wade can do is cut, find open spots, and use his athleticism to beat defenses. In other words, if Magic and Worthy made it work, Lebron and Wade can too.

You have to give the Heat time. What you have to remember is that unlike a lot of teams in the past, their team was almost literally completely pulled together this season. They literally only have 2 or 3 players returning from last season to their regular rotation.

Hasn't the overrated talk been going on for some time now?

I still think he is the most talented player in the league, and I don't really understand how anyone could argue with that. Problem is he's also one of the dumbest. And one of the worst leaders/teammates.
