Thinking about picking this game up for $45....

The new Michael Jordan stuff looks intriguing...

Thoughts on the game? I know IGN said it was the best sports game of all time, but that's debatable I'm sure.

I might get it too but I just cant get into NBA games. Its too repetitive to want to play a whole season.

I still play College Hoops 2k8 because the turnover in players allows you to have a different type of team every season.

I'm in my 2015-2016 season with A&M and I still love it.

Yeah, I always make my seasons 32 games or whatever the lowest option is. Then playoffs I do best of 3 and best of 5 for the Finals.


I'm mainly interested in the Jordan challenges... I've heard they're pretty sweet.

I don't particularly like it. However, that being said, I like to play my basketball games w/o micromanaging everything that goes on on the court, so if you're really into that, you might enjoy it.

I find that a lot of passes on former games that would go for easy dunks get tipped by defenders, and the lag time between when you press a pass icon to when the pass completes leaves the receiver cutting to the basket when you didn't expect him to, leading to a turnover.

Lots of other annoying things, like in My Player mode the Center will receive the ball outside the 3 point line and just dribble for 15 seconds while you frantically call for a pass.

That being said, I've played it a ton and have enjoyed it, I just get incredibly frustrated b/c I feel like I'm not able to do the things that make a basketball game fun, like running fast breaks, breaking people down off the dribble, running effective pick and rolls, etc....the AI is pretty dumb

I've read this year is a lot more difficult than previous years... most notably, the fast breaks and being able to just do a few moves and go in for the dunk like you used to.... or lead pass perfectly in the paint without the defender ever even swatting at it... things like that.

Andy, I've been looking at this forum, and all it does is reinforce everything I dislike about this game.

I appreciate you bringing it up because I just like to know I'm not the only idiot having problems with the game.

I made a My Player center and absolutely dominate, mostly because I get offensive rebounds, putbacks, and a buttload of blocks. I got tired of that, though, and decided to make a SG.

Wow, was that a mistake. It is way harder to get involved in the game as a guard. Every pass I feel like is easily going for a dunk, they throw a chest pass instead of a bounce pass. I get so frustrated by the AI, anytime there is a perfect opportunity to cut to the basket, they want to hang out at the FT line...and when they need to take an elbow jumper and I try to pass, they cut to the basket..

What a headache.

i love the game

however, its much much harder to do fast breaks and dunks. Hell, they even changed the alley-oop controls and it took me a few minutes to figure it out
