It will be my wife's first Mavericks game and I was going to surprise her with 2 tickets to either the Spurs game on Dec. 30 or the Lakers game on Jan. 19. Which one should I get?

Also, where is the best place to buy my tickets? Just Ticketmaster or stubuhub or something? I wanted some better than I usually get seats (meaning not nosebleed). Suggestions?

Spurs, no question. Not only are they the better team right now, but it's a rivalry game. Regardless of who you root for, that's gonna be a fun one to be at.

Completely different atmospheres:

Spurs: Rivalry game that is more about the basketball game between 2 really good teams this year that know each other extremely well.

Lakers: More of a social event. Everyone, Lakers and Mavs fans, show up early and are taking pictures of everything the Lakers do.

Either would be really enjoyable.

My wife would divorce me on the spot if I bought her two NBA tickets for Christmas.

Grizzlies. That way she could see them win.

Nah, we have a better record against San Antonio this year than we do against Memphis.

Lakers.

I would choose the Lakers. It will be a well hyped game because it's their first meeting of the season, and obviously they are the team to beat in the West. And Kobe never takes a night off, especially against the Mavs

Lakers = Mavs win
Spurs = Mavs lose

I feel bad for Dallas. I really do.

The way things are shaking out I would go for Spurs. Lakers games at the AAC are like Yankee games at the Ballpark, all of the transplants and bandwagoners come out of the woodwork and try to take over. Spurs games are always intense, has a college feel to it (which is rare in Dallas).

Good luck getting decent tickets on each. I'm sure they are both sold out. You'll have to go through stubhub if you want anything in the lower bowl

Oh and I'd go with Laker tickets. Seeing Kobe play is pretty sweet.

Just curious as to what tickets were purchased for your wife?

Did "odds she will be raped" play a role? If so, you had to go spurs, right? It's just a much, much safer situation
