very well said. If they had to do it again, the Rockets would still take Yao in the draft where they did because of the exposure he brought their team and, inevitably, merchandise sales.

Now it's time to move on and start rebuilding. I'd say a perfect start would be kevin martin for brendan haywood!

I guess I forgot to preface my comments with a mention that I'm a Mavs fan and would love to see this trade. It's not just hearsay, either. Rolando Blackman was talking about it on the pregame last night

It is 100% absolutely heresay and ficticious at that.

The article that everyone is mentioning this mentions two things.

Dallas likes Kevin Martin.

Houston likes Brendan Haywood.

These two things have absolutely nothing to with one another, except for the fact that the two teams are the same.

The Rockets have no interest in trading Kevin Martin for Brendan Haywood, and it should have never been inferred that they would even consider it.

It's simply two solitary facts, that when stated in the same article, put together a false conclusion.

Let me give you a comparable example:

Dallas likes Kyle Lowry. Houston like Dirk.

Fans: ZOMG, ROCKITS MITE TRADE LOWRY FUR DIRK!!! HOORAYYY!

FYI, here is the article that started the Martin & Haywood talk.

http://mavericks.scout.com/2/1032030.html

Notice the bolded preface that dallas fans are ignoring:

quote:
There is no meeting of the trade-making brains here yet. But we know that Brendan Haywood is on the mind of the center-starved Rockets. And we know that as always, Kevin Martin is on the minds of the “second-star’’-searching Mavs. Two sources with knowledge of the teams’ views tell DallasBasketball.com of the clubs’ so-far independent thinking on the two players.
