This is stupid. Hollinger just makes up any ridiculous formula he wants, slaps the label "player/trio/howmuchdickisuck rating" on the final number, and then writes a column about it.

Having Grant, Kukoc and Rice in 5 of the top 6 really cheapens it. Seems like he could make some sort of "star rating" adjustment to account for that. He could just adjust it for players that made an all-NBA team within ~3 years of the listed season. He explains that the 80s Lakers didn't make it because Jabbar was too old by the time Worthy was a star.

You might have copied from ESPN, but your thread title is still off. You're not understanding the article. The ESPN headline is Best big 3s in NBA. It's talking about Heat this year and where they stand.

But the chart you've listed is misleading. It only contains the best 3-player combos on the championship teams. ESPN listed it correctly, you don't. Basically, it lists the top 10 combos on last thirty champions.
