Was trying to get info on what seeds won or played in the NBA finals over the last 5 years but stumbled across this instead.

As per a method used by Justin Kubatko who won the TrueHoop Stat Geek Smackdown in both 2007 and 2008. He has the following as "most likely to win the NBA finals" this year

Spurs 34.6%
Heat 21.3%
Celtics 20.3%
Lakers 11.3%
Magic 4.1%
Bulls 3.0%
Mavs 2.5%

Hollinger does the same thing. It changes along with the Hollinger rating. Worth its weight in paper.

Hollinger does percentages for NBA finals etc?

I've seen the power rankings on who's the "#1 team" for the week or current status. And as you said, it holds it weight in paper. Seems like he simply goes off current win streaks for power rankings.

Hollinger also uses his formula to create playoffs odds. It's somewhere on ESPN. Right now the Spurs should be the favorite on all indicators, but there is a long way to go.

That's quite humorous. A team who's best player is Manu Ginobili (no offense to the best PF of all time) is going to win the title.

So you're saying the Spurs have no chance because they are a balanced team getting production from pretty much every player, the best of which is Ginobili?

You best be trollin.

A team whose best player was Chauncey Billups won the title, beating a Lakers team with 4 first ballot HOFers starting.

Duncan isn't as good as he was 2-3 years ago, but he's still got plenty left in the tank. Look at how he did against Dallas last year.

He isn't putting up lots of point right now because this Spurs team has so many scorers. Here's the thing: there are only 75-85 shots in a typical NBA game. Right now, Parker, Neal, Ginobili, Duncan, Hill, and Jefferson can all go for 20 pretty easily. Blair isn't that far behind.

There aren't enough shots for all of them to get 20 every night, overall stats are going to suffer. That's what's going on with Duncan. The Spurs can afford to limit his minutes.

I'm interested to know what you'll say when they actually do it.
Probably nothing.
