He got pantsed badly on that play then pantsed a guy almost as badly on the other end.

Duncan has lost a step, there's no doubt about that. Nobody is arguing he is now what he once was.

Duncan wasn't behind a step, he completely dropped the ball. Albeit a rare occurence for him, if I were a professional, I'd be far more embarassed by that and the subsequent Poppovich a$$ chewing he got and would probably rather a pass get through my legs than that.

love duncan and the spurs, but obviously timmy was beaten badly. Pop wouldn't have called a TO and chewed him out if he hadn't.

By "lost a step", I mean he doesn't always make the right decisions on defense anymore. He never used to do that stuff.

One of the most striking moments of the season to me came in a close game against the T-wolves early on. The T-wolves had the inbound late in the 4th quarter to try to tie or win the game (the Spurs were up at the time), and Pop subs McDyess in for Timmy. I made the comment that I've never seen Tim sitting on the bench when a stop is needed at the end of the game, and my dad tells me "it isn't the first time this season, either".
