As badly as the New Jersey Nets have wanted to move underperforming point guard Devin Harris(notes), the sentiment is mutual: Harris has fully embraced the Nets’ intent to trade him, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

After Harris pushed for the Nets to hire his former coach with the Dallas Mavericks, Avery Johnson, the two have had a difficult time working together, and Harris’ production has declined across the season. The Nets have discussed deals with multiple teams for Harris, with possible scenarios in the works with the Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas, sources said.

Privately, Harris is hoping for a trade back to Dallas where he started his career, two sources familiar with his thinking told Yahoo! Sports. The Mavericks also have serious interest in a reunion with Harris.

Damn this kid is emotionally fragile. So we've come full circle with him since 2008. Avery is like the abusive absentee father that you can't escape. Everything's great when you're on a winning team with a hierarchy, but no one wants to listen to his **** otherwise.

If a contending team can get Harris though he should start playing with a giant chip on his shoulder again. He'd still mesh well with Kidd in the Mavs backcourt. Let's throw a couple more #1s and Butler's expiring at them.

I'm told there's a 100 pct chance of Devin Harris being traded. Dallas and Portland likeliest spots. Mavs offer Caron's exp contract.

So that would make it 4 first rounders and a 2 year rental of Harris for Kidd.

Didnt those two butt heads in Dallas as well? Why would the Russian think this go round would be any different.

They butted heads constantly as Avery tried to make him into a full-time distributing PG instead of letting him continue to thrive as the slasher/off-guard. But then when he was trying to deflect blame for the Kidd trade Avery had the quote saying that Devin "is like a son to me", which was around the time he said that it took a miracle for the Mavs to make the playoffs that year.

ESPN reporting Nets are trading for Daron Williams in exchange for Harris and Favors.

That's a much better deal for the Nets, they can actually build around Williams.

Poor Harris, gets to go to a team who just lost there franchise coach and star player. Looks like he'll be apart of another losing team.
