From the comment section.
quote:
Your analysis was conducted with the rigor of a high school student. What you fail to realize is that the reason Kobe has so many more attempts than the other players listed is he is not SCARED to take the shot, even when it isn't the perfect look. Case in point, in the 2011 All-Star game, LeBron fails to shoot what would have been the game-tying three pointer, and passes to Chris Bosh to take it. Why? Because LeBron was scared.

In summary, your short-sided analysis does not account for the fact that other players are cherry-picking when they try to take the game-winner, passing up, just like LeBron did, on all but the most favorable opportunities.

This guy criticizes the mathematical analysis, then claims Lebron freaking James is scared to take big shots because he passed up a shot in the all-star game.

All the comments are gold, actually. Those morons don't understand the concept of numbers. "No, Kobe is clutch because Kobe is clutch, your numbers are stupid!"

I agree. Kobe Bryant sucks, and Tim Duncan isn't on HGH.

I don't know. I'm reading this as Kobe hits a turnaround fadeaway spinning the opposite direction on a tough Sefalosha to put the Lakers up 3 with less than a minute to go.

But Kobe was 3-10 in the 4th with 3 TOs. This game was typical. Only makes a few shots but they had a high degree of difficulty and the Lakers pull it out.
