Turns out the Pistons wanted to move him to the Cavaliers, who were then going to immediately buy him out in a salary dump maneuver and let him become available to anyone willing to sign him...and the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics were both going to go after him. According to ESPN, the Bulls were thinking of bringing him in as a starter.

Instead, he railroaded the trade and skipped the shootaround a day later. What the heck is up with this dude?

He is 33 years old and has 3 years remaining on his 12.5 million/year salary. Guaranteed money, I'm guessing.

This way he doesn't even have to play and he makes tens of millions per year.

Everything that I just posted tells me that Hamilton would end up taking a huge paycut. Maybe the buyout would make up for it. I just don't know why people would want a SG on the downhill side of his career that publicly screams at his coach.

Apparently Garnett was wrong about which Piston was a cancer to his team.

I understand if Hamilton wants to play out his guaranteed contract, but he needs to quit being a ***** about it. Take a buy out and go somewhere else, or be a team player and say "yes sir!" anytime your coach so much as looks at you.

Early on in his career Hamilton was lauded for being the ultimate "team player" and all-around gym-rat type. I wonder what happened.

Learn to read dewshbag. He is a bad dude for refusing a buyout and slamming his coach. Take the buyout and leave, or take the money and do whatever the coach says, with a smile.

Refusing a buyout, chewing out his coach, refusing to play, etc. He wants to be able to say whatever he wants, not play, and still get paid. That's why people aren't so high on him right now.
