...and take Jefferson out.

Duncan/McDyess/Blair gives you a big front line that can compete with the bigger teams in the league, and at this point Jefferson is bringing NOTHING.

I'm tired of watching Jefferson pass up open layups, get beat on defense, and failing to box out on rebounds. He's no longer a slasher because he doesn't have confidence when he gets to the rim.

Other than a 3-point threat, he is bringing pretty much nothing. I even think Blair moves better at this point.

Tell me why I'm wrong on this.

I like it... if Splitter's ready and able to play. If not, the Spur's second unit gets smashed on the boards. It'd jack the rotation up for 10 or so minutes/game.

We wouldn't have anyone on the arc.

You're smoking crack if you think Pop should start Blair at the 3.

I will, however, agree that he does need to be back in the starting lineup at center.

The Spurs need Antonio's shooting range coming off the bench and Blair's hustle and rebounding to start the game. Pop messed with a good thing and I don't like how it has affected later rotations.

You've just now noticed that Pop and company made Jefferson into a Bowen clone on offense? Too bad they couldn't do the same for his defense.

I really like the starting lineup. It improves our defense and it should make our offense more effecient with Dyess's ability to make the mid range jumper. Also, I like Blair coming off the bench for energy. They are staggering Manu's time to coincide with Blair's which will help.

I bet you would have said the same thing a couple weeks ago when Blair was still starting. It's not like the Spurs have shown to be significantly or even remotely better in the last few games with McDyess starting.

I've been bashing Jefferson most of the season. Welcome to the bandwagon.

He can only defend slow guards... there aren't a lot of those around. He was brought in to be a real scoring option, but all he does is cash in on Manu and Tony's assists. He creates no offense. Bonner has been more effective driving the lane and less glaringly inept on defense this season. That is a sign that Jefferson needs to lose minutes until he can contribute.

Again, the Spurs coaching staff is to thank for turning Jefferson into a Bowen clone on offense.

He sits in the corner or on the wing shooting 3s all day long. Occasionally he drives and makes it look ugly when he does. Sometimes he gets an easy one on the backdoor cut.

Pure Bowen clone on the offensive end. I don't know how they were able to completely eradicate all of his offensive moves he had before heading to San Antonio, but they have. And it might payoff bigtime.

He just isn't much help on the defensive end, and we knew that from the day he showed up. Just like we don't expect D from Bonner, we shouldn't expect it from RJ either.

Pop must be smoking crack then. Blair is the starter against Miami a couple weeks ago, Spurs win by 30. Dice is the starter on Monday, Spurs lose by 30.

I'm not advocating anything one way or the other as far as messing with the lineup right now. Pop already started that when he dusted off McDyess and made him a starter. However, if you've watched a lot of Spurs games this year you must have noticed the chemistry between Manu and Blair on the pick-and-roll. All I'm saying is put that back in the starting lineup and get Jefferson the hell outta there.

While we're complaining, play Tiago Splitter when we're up or down by 20. Pop won't play him in real game scenarios because he doesn't have the experience, and he doesn't have the experience because Pop usually won't play him even when it can't affect the outcome of the game. Duncan needs a center next to him for defensive purposes, not a 6'6" Blair. We haven't been able to put a decent center next to Tim in forever.

The problem is putting Blair and Bonner on the court at the same time. That's just a bad lineup.

Someone should write that down, give to Pop and his assistants, and every time he even thinks about doing it, his assistants need to smack him in the face with it.
