This reminds me of the collapse they had against the Rockets many years ago to where they gave up like a 10 point lead in the last minute.

I don't blame any single player for this, but a recurring thought that seems to always come to mind is that Richard F'n Jefferson needs to GO!

worst part was shaun saying you have to protect the basket as the lob goes straight to the rim...

Manu is a freaking choker. I think he had 3 turnovers in the last 3 minutes.

The night before in Denver he did the same thing at the end. Need to go away from the Manu iso at the end of games. It is eerily reminiscent of the Donald Sloan iso that ended in so many A&M losses.

Glad I didn't watch since I'd probably be pretty pissed. But a week from now, this game will be forgotten. It means nothing, at the end of the day. Get healthy Tim, and bring on the playoffs.

My thoughts exactly. Jefferson is wasted rosters space. Too bad he's under contract for 2 more years.

Not sure I'd go this far with it, but I'd certainly like to see Parker with the ball in his hands in crunch time. He commands double and triple teams when he goes to the rim, and he's less likely to create a bad turnover than Manu.

Looking at it again, I don't consider it to be the worst choke job ever by the Spurs.

1) The two turnovers (Parker, then Ginobili) were bad, but on the Ginobili turnover they got back in transition and prevented the easy basket

2) Bonner definitely fouled Batum, but was it a "last 5 seconds of the game" foul? Brent Barry would think of Derek Fisher and say no.

3) Steve Novak was inbounding the ball on the insuing play. No way Novak is in that situation in a game the Spurs really want to win. The pass never should have been thrown and sailed a bit on Manu.

4) The defense on the lob was aweful. But we've seen the Spurs do that before. A lob to Dwight Howard a couple years ago in a similar situation comes to mind.

Not playing defense on Tracy McGrady for an entire final 1:30 of a game was WAY worse than this.

I was at the McGrady game and it was way worse. Especially listening to the sh&t Rockets fans who hadn't make a peep for 47.5 mins.

how does this game not matter?

the spurs are up 5 games on the lakers, and they play. so, assuming the lakers win, that means the spurs are 4 games up on the lakers with 9 games to go.

it's unlikely they will fall out of the #1 spot, but the spurs are playing some sheet ass basketball during the most important part of the year.

classic case of a team peaking too early. they look terrible, and aren't healthy. 2 worst things you want. the spurs are screwed.

you keep running your mouth about the spurs being screwed but don't have the brass to back it up

Parker, for the third game in a row, with a choke job. This team isn't doing anything in the post season.

Come on. We're missing Duncan right now.

Not really. They've actually done a pretty good job defensively without him. The fact is, that they've been in a position to win each of the last three games, but have failed to execute in each. This spells trouble going into the post season in a couple of weeks.

NO without West would be a great matchup. I'd be happy playing the Rockets. The Grizzlies I don't like. Their post play is too strong and they play rough enough that even assuming you win, you go into round two beat up.

anyone but memphis would be fantastic.

the spurs can't play memphis worth a damn this season. plus, i hate that zach randolph POS ***got.

One positive to take out of the three game trip is George Hill's play. He has been extremely inconsistent the whole season, but it appears he's found his groove. Also apparent, however, is Matt Bonner's late season vanishing act.

The Grizzlies found Bonner.... and kept going to whoever he was guarding (Gasol or Randolph).

i would gladly trade in all of his threes if it meant he never saw the floor again this season.

This is what happens when you have injuries. The Spurs skated through most of the season without a scratch.

Unless he is hitting 3's...how can Pop stomach watching Bonner run, much less watch him play?
