What is more important for the Spurs at this point: Trying to keep home court over Chicago, or resting starters?

Yep. Rest or not is now the question.

IMO, I think we should play that Utah game at full strength and then shut it down and let the rest handle itself.

I will admit they sure had me worried there for a little bit, now on to the real season.

HC versus Chicago is more important. No rest for the weary.

I've never really understood how resting 1-2 games at the tail end of an 82 game season is really all that beneficial.

Pop has done a good job of keeping the big names fresh this season and resting them here and there. Who know what he'll do but I'll be surprised if they pack it in at this point.

I'm not sure if sitting some of the players is about rest or continued healing. I do think he'll sit a player if there is an injury that would benefit from time off. Otherwise, I agree with Mass about rest.

It will be interesting to see whether the Thunder pass the Mavs for the third seed. Dallas has the easier schedule, while the Thunder still have Denver (who they blew out the other night) and LA. I'm hoping the Mavs hold on.

in fact, they very well might not get past 5 games with either of those two teams.

I would love for the Thunder to pass Dallas. That way LA would have a lot tougher matchup in the 2nd round, and maybe get bloodied up a little before the WC finals.

LA hasn't exactly blown the doors off the Thunder this year. I could see that going 6 games. Especially since the Thunder are playing pretty well right now.

I believe the Spurs themselves believe it. They are operating under the assumption that they will be in the finals. Am I going to bet on it? No. I think they have a chance; but ultimately I think the Lakers have the better team. Anything can happen though and you have to maximize your advantages over all other teams in the hunt. I've watched NBA too long to hand the trophy to anyone before the playoffs start.

Here is where you and I disagree. The Spurs have shown me at least enough this year that I think they are a WC finals team. AND they are 6-1 against the teams you mentioned, with the only loss coming by 3 pts AT Denver with Tim Duncan not suiting up. I don't know where you think the wins are coming from with either of those two teams.

and my statements are based on the final stretch run of the season. a time when, normally, spurs fans only care about. but now you guys are picking out stats from pre-all star break. who cares?

in the past month....how many times have the spurs beaten either the nuggets or thunder? answer: 0. they may not have played a lot, but stats from earlier in the season are not a reflection of how teams are playing right now. especially since i qualified my statements with, over the previous month/last 10 games.

Hard to beat a team when you haven't played them. They've played either of those teams ONCE in the last month. AT Denver, WITHOUT Duncan. Lost by 3.

And that means both Denver and OKC are going to dominate the Spurs? I just can't argue with that logic.
