How is this a tie game at the half? What the hell is ailing the Lakers?

The Lakers played sloppy basketball. Had the Spurs bench (aka, everyone who played) been hitting some of those point-blank shots they were getting they would have been up by 10 instead of tied midway through the 4th.

Without Bynum that defense is awfully porous. What can Parker and Manu do to a defense that can't stay in front of that lightning backcourt duo, Steve Novak and Matt Bonner?!

Splitter is bad.

Splitter drew a ton of fouls, rebounded well, and did a credible job on defense. That's exactly what the Spurs need out of him.

Hopefully in subsequent years his post-up game will improve, but the Spurs aren't really a post-up team right now.

Splitter played much better when Duncan was out.

He looked awful on offense tonight, but did okay on defense and rebounding

His hook shot is weird, the release looks way too early. It makes the shot impossible to block, but also really tough to make.

He gets better looks with Parker and Ginobili running the pick and roll.

Yeah I was exaggerating a bit. He was serviceable on defense. His offense was bad tonight though. But then again, so was the whole teams. He'll get better.
