who should be the most worried out of the lakers, spurs, and magic? or should nobody be worried?

i think they still win, but i'll go with the spurs slightly ahead of the magic

I also think all three will be fine but I'll have to pick the Spurs simply because of the Ginobili injury.

I'll say the Magic. They went 1-3 vs. Atlanta in the regular season and lost the home opener despite Dwight Howard going off. Game 2 is a must win for Orlando. Richardson, Turkoglu, and the Magic reserves better step up.

i think the grizz are a good team, so i'm trying to give them their due, but the spurs can't be judged as harshly without manu.

you have to go with orlando right now.

What I saw is the Spurs try to run a half-court offense for 2.5-3 quarters yesterday, getting away from what got them here, and if they continue to do that, they could lose in the 1st round.

Hopefully the alteration was simply because Manu was out.

I can all but guarantee Ginobili will be back for game #2, so I'd say Orlando.

But I don't think any of them should be too worried.

The Magic, for the reasons already mentioned by bayou abouve. It's just not a great matchup.

However, FWIW, the records since 12/26 for the Spurs (35-17) and Grizzlies (33-19) is not that much different. Had the Grizz not started so poorly, they would have been seeded 5 or 6.

Had the grizz not lost so many games they would have had a better seed, nice.

magic

for the reason stated above and because the hawks have playoff experience

Until the spurs lose game 2, I'll go with the magic.

no one is really mentioning the lakers, but if paul keeps plying like he did in game 1, zthe lakers could be in trouble.

I'm not mentioning the Lakers because if they lose, it would be the most collosal upset in the NBA playoffs since the lowly Nuggests upended the 1st seed Sonics back in the 90's. And that was only a 5-game series.

The advantages LA has over NO are ridonkulous. Only the PG matchup is in NO's favor, and their 2nd best player and only effective low-post scorer won't play a single game.

Long story short, LA losing to NO would be WORSE than the Mavs losing to the Warriors. At least GS was a bad matchup for the Mavs. Who would ever argue that New Orleans without David West is a bad matchup for ANYONE?

agree mass. but, there's a stipulation.

Dallas was peaking that year. that was their year to win it (best single season record ever?). if they were gonna win it, that was their year.

the lakers are trying to 3peat. a very hard feat.

what was it simmons said....if you win the championship, no complaining for 5 years? what about back to back? and the odds of a 3peat are very slim.

It is so cute watching Simplebay pump and hedge now that the Lakers lost their first game.

Simplebay:

LAKERS LAKERS LAKERS!

(Game 1 between Lakers and Hornets, Simplebay disappears)

(Simplebay returns)

Lakers should be worried. We might lose this series.

(Covers all bases. Lakers win series? "Whew, close one, LAKERS WERE JUST BORED AND WILL SWEEP THEIR WAY TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!" Lakers lose series? "Three peats are HAAARRRRDDD you guys!"
Simplebay

no hedge.

the Lakers will 100% win this series.

So are the odds of going to the NBA finals 3 years in a row, winning back-to-back championships, returning your entire roster including a healthier starting center, and then losing in the first round of the playoffs to a team that is missing their only reliable low-post threat (Carl Landry notwithstanding).

Magic- Howard had won of the greatest playoff performances in history and they lost at home

he ain't gonna go for 60 and 20 so they can win

spurs will win the series in 6 and maybe 5 b/c I heard Randolph got an extension today

Lakers got blown out by Paul- big problems in LA are brewing

The Mavs also tapped the breaks towards the end of the regular season, going into the playoffs jogging and overconfident. The Warriors had won 10 in a row (needed to to even make the playoffs) and were ready to kick the Mavs asses, which they did.
