Is he getting the DWade 2006 Finals treatment with 29 free throws in 2 games??? And dont get me wrong I believe Dallas is the better team and Dirk is the best player on the court.

in one game wade had 25 free throws during that series...

One reason is the Portland defense. They switch defenders on lots of pick and rolls. Dirk ends up with a guard on him. Miller or whomever is clobbering him every time.

Wade's FTA's were not that ridiculous until those last two games when they were uncanny.

Dirk's FTA's are a bit high but I wouldn't say its unheard of.

Derrick Rose also has 34 attempts in 2 games.

He was getting mauled most of the time in the second half. The Mavs would rotate until someone like Matthews or Wallace was guarding him, and they had no option when he spun.

I do not like the Mavs, but I respect Dirk as their only good player. Watched the 2nd half of the game foul calls seemed justified.

Nothing about Dirks FT is outline with how the refs call NBA playoff games. You just accept it hope its your team that's getting the love.

Dirk gets legitimately fouled most of the time anyway.

He usually pump fakes getting his defender in the air and causing more contact. He also seem so to be spinning toward the basket more in this series while his jumper is not falling.

He's probably got some good calls, but no more than the other really good players in the league get.

He hasn't been this aggressive in a series in a long time. In a way, i credit Chandler's attitude ramping up the intensity on both ends of the court with encouraging the entire team, Dirk included, to be more aggressive.

This. He's attacking off the dribble more than I've seen him do in a long, long time. I forgot Dirk could do that honestly.

This is actually the newest facet of his game. Under Nelson he was strictly a jump shooter. Then he developed his "Dirk Fade." Under Avery he started attacking the basket. Portland has shown they can't defend him going to the rim w/out fouling. He's getting the calls he should.

And how about the back-to-back and-1 shots by Kidd and Dirk? That was awesome.
