the mavs i think own the two worst choke jobs in the history of the league

2006 nba finals (up 2.85-0)
2011 nba game 4 first round (23 point lead blown)

In 1994 I think the Rockets blew 20pt leads in Games 1 and 2 against the Suns in the 4th quarter at home. Of course they came back and won the series and the championship but they have players with the heart of champions and not vaginas.

Total Mavs homer here, but I read this morning that the last 2 teams to blow 18+ pt leads in the 2nd half of a playoff game won the next game and eventually the series. I think it was the '94 Suns against the Rockets and the '02 Nets against the Celtics.

It's not fair to be a Mavs fan and an Aggie.

The '94 Suns did NOT beat the Rockets.

94 Rockets blew the 18 pt lead in game 2 to go down 0-2 in a 5 game series. Choke city to clutch city. Completely different circumstances.

Norm confirmed this morning that the 23 point collapse in 13 minutes is the biggest in NBA playoff history. So add it to the ledger

Biggest Finals Collapse
Biggest First Round Upset
Best 10 year regular season winning % in all major sports without wining a title

If you're not winning then you might as well go down with all these horrific records. Sure the Jazz and others have had long streaks of consistent winning without a title but they were so boring compared to this.

So if the Spurs lose ther series to the Grizzlies, a franchise who had never won a single playoff game, where does that rank in there?......it's still a 1 going down to an 8.

The Spurs are not going to lose to the Grizzlies.
Obi Wan Ginobili

i don't think the spurs losing would be nearly as epic as when the mavs did it, although it would suck something awful.

Don't even try to compare the Spurs to the 2007 Mavs. The Warriors had what 25 less wins? Add in the Mavs cruised to the 1 seed and were desperate for a single title. The Grizzlies tanked the last week of the season to play the Spurs where the Warriors were 1 loss away from missing the playoffs. And there's no way the Spurs lose this series anyway. they were in a deeper hole in 2008 vs Hornets

The spurs losing to the Grizzlies would be on par with the Mavs/Warriors. maybe worse because the Mavs were still younger at the time, and this would be nailing shut the coffin on the Spurs era.

The spurs are an elite franchise, and should not be being dethroned by the previously winless grizzlies WITHOUT their best player, being led by zach randolph.

if the spurs lose this, which they won't, they should be ashamed and it'll be fun watching Obi jump into molten lava.

Well yeah it would be hilarious if an elite franchise that carries a legacy and pride gets punked by the Tony Allen / Zach Randolph show and would be worse than the Mavs on that level. But the sports gods won't let that happen

I think the spurs lose the series, I don't see it as being that much of a upset mainly because the Warriors dominated the Mavs whereas the Griz and Spurs series have been pretty competitive.

This will not be as bad as the Mavericks melt down against the Warriors. The Spurs are really not as good as their record.

Memphis Grizz NEVER even won a playoff game until now, this is far more embarrassing, which is why Spurs fans were talking so much **** during the season and now saying "we're not that good, so this isn't a big deal at all".

Look how pathetic you are. Who cares if the Mavs don't win a title, we went further than the Spurs in 2011 before getting crushed by the Lakers. That is what you'll be hanging your hat on for the next 6 months. Even Aggie obsessed Tech fans think that is extremely sad.
