He was 45.7% during the regular season this year and has never had a season below 33.6%.

He's 30.5% all time in the playoffs.

The Anti-Horry. And Jefferson is the Anti-Bowen.

Bonner was over 50 percent as recent as February, I believe.

He went cold about the same time the Spurs tanked.

Lifetime:

What else needs to be said?

I donna know...I think it should be expected.

He's a set-shooter with a slow/low release who is simply rushed against playoff intensity defenses. Just the way it is.

While it's obviously not as good as making threes, even missing he still spreads Memphis out and opens up the middle for others. Doesn't show up in the box score though.

I've said for 2 years straight now that, as long as Matt Bonner plays a significant role on this team, the Spurs are not contenders. His numbers during the regular season did not impress me this year, or any other year.

A lot of you think its because he shrivels. It isn't. It is because you don't get wide-freakin'-A open looks in the playoffs like you do in the regular season. Bonner is deadly if: 1) He is set up perfectly for about 10 seconds before the ball comes to him, 2) He receives the pass directly at chest level without bobbling it, and 3) Nobody is anywhere near him for 10' when he releases. If those three things don't happen, it ain't going in. You can forget about the guy ever making a "step to the left and pop" type of shot.

It just so happens that, in the playoffs, somebody's always got a hand in your face. In Bonner's case, that's all anyone has ever had to do to shut him down.

If you shoot from the shoulder with a long release, you aren't going to get your shot off in the playoffs - but he does cause Mem to expand their D and attack the 3, opening up the paint - the Spurs have just done a terrible job taking advantage of Mem running at the 3 - mostly because we are slow compared to Mem.

Doesnt really matter what Bonner does if the Spurs can find a way to keep Randolph off the O-board. Randolph is single-handedly winning the series with O-boards and putbacks.

I don't really see it this way. Most of his shots have come with defenders running off rotations from other players. I think he's a waste of space on both ends. Even worse than Jefferson.

Bonner's only value right now is the Grizz aren't going to leave him open, and maybe that opens up the offense. However, he hasn't been making his shots when he does get one so in my book he can't be out there.

I'd love to see the shooting percentage against stat on the Red Rocket. e.g. what percentage does the guy he's guarding shoot? I'm thinking it's in the 90s, if not 100%. There's not a single guy on the Grizz roster that Matt can bother defensively.

I need to stress once again how bad Bonner is in the playoffs one more time.

Bonner--the anti-Neal.

Can the Spurs win despite him?

Probably not.

Bonner did what he always does. Why would you expect anything different?
