He drew up two awesome play calls at the end of that game, first with the inbounds to duncan with Ginobili faking the 3 bubble and cutting to the hoop, then doing to Neal.

My only beef with him is not playing Blair. Blair is an energy guy that can bang, make hustle plays, and get Orebs - all of which the spurs desperately need. We know Blair has the ability to go for 20-10, McDyess does not have that ability, nowhere near it.

Randolph is tossing McDyess around like a little girl and Bonner has no chance. McDyess is doing little to nothing on defense and he is not hitting the elbow or baseline jumper. At this point, if we are going to concede that we cannot guard Randolph, get someone in the game that can score - Splitter showed some flash in game 5, Blair can make hustle plays.

McDyess brings nothing but height. He is averaging 5 points and 5 boards on 38% shooting. He has gotten to the line 4 times in the entire series.

1. McDyess did a great job in overtime against Randolph. He's not out there to score or even rebound, he's out there to box Randolph out of the play.

2. Randolph has abused Blair badly when they've been matched up. His positioning is too good.

McDyse is about 100 times more effective than Blair right now. The problem is he can't play 48 minutes. The benching of Blair is puzzling. With the size the Grizzlies have I can't believe there are not enough minutes to play both Blair and Splitter. Both guys bring the hard hat and bang. Seems like it would buy some time for McD and Duncan.

I agree with you Ulrich but I am still surprised that Blair is getting no minutes.

The Spurs have no answer for ZR. I would think Blair could at least bang on him awhile to wear him down. I can't see him doing any worse than Bonner.

Like I said, if we are going to concede Randolph, as we are doing with McDyess, then get someone out there that can score.

McDyess has done a terrible job of positioning against Randolph. He runs free to the baseline (instead of engaging him at the top of the key), then either posts or positions himself to at least get a tip on an Oreb on almost every play. McDyess is getting moved around like a deflated balloon.

That I agree with. I can also envision Blair getting under Randolph's skin and maybe drawing a flagrant or technical.

Really? Even after what Pop did to George Hill in '09, and what he did to Malik Rose for basically his entire career? It never surprises me when a guy who is getting 20+ minutes per game in the regular season mysteriously disappears from the floor in the playoffs under Pop.

And I agree with those who say Blair is a bad matchup against Memphis.

You know, Duncan has done fairly well on Z-Bo when he's been on him. Guess they just want Duncan to stay out of foul trouble.

Duncan can guard Gasol or Randolph but not Gasol and Randolph. He's blocked Randolph 5-6 times this series though. Randolph is great at timing and positioning, but so is Duncan.

How bad or good of an idea would it be to double team Randolph and throw Splitter on Gasol?

They've gotta do something about the post.

Not sure why we haven't seen a double on Randolph with the way he is dominating the series...

Man Love I tell you.

Pop's man love for Bonner is unnerving.

At least he found Splitter on the side of a milk carton.

Bonner should only be playing situationally and McDyess and Blair should be getting about 12 minutes each, with Splitter and Duncan taking up the rest.
