Great fans. Great atmosphere. Likeable players with a mix of young and old Unlikely heroes - Zach Randolph was like Hakeem out there.
Took down a proud dynasty that just a couple months ago was on pace for one of the greatest seasons ever.

What a great story. This is why I love sports

This is Memphis' only major sports franchise. They have the ability to latch on to the Grizzlies just like San Antonio did with the Spurs in the late 90's. Winning is key to building a fanbase in a small market.

The difference with Memphis is that they have a top 25 college basketball that is still the main draw in the town, especially with the old money.

The Tigers are probably top 10 draw (for college), while the Grizz were probably bottom 8 in the NBA.
