If you had to guess who the NBA wanted to be in the finals, who would you guess?

Edit to add: I haven't watched a full NBA game all season. I don't follow professional basketball, and I don't want to follow professional basketball. I have no affiliation with nor am I a fan of any one team. So, just answer the question instead of talking smack.

Memphis and Atlanta.

He wants to wear his Sons of the Confederate Nation uniform to one of the games. Also, he grows weary of long plane rides.

Which brings up the question, what are the two closest East-West teams? Maybe Bucks-T'Wolves or NOLA and Atlanta?

"He" is the man who manipulates all regarding the NBA = David Joel Stern.

Also, Stern controls the English royalty, making sure the Royal wedding occured on a day with no NBA games involving teams from major markets.

Also, Stern told BHO to hold off the raid of OBL's compound until late at night, after the Heat & Celtics had completed their game.

Lakers v. Heat would be the ultimate ratings grab for the NBA, I think.

Memphis is closer to Atlanta than New Orleans is.

But I bet Minneapolis and Milwaukee are the closest

I would say L.A. v Miami.

Lakers/Heat. The NBA has been trying to get a Kobe/LeBron Finals since 2008. I'm sure everyone remembers the MVP puppet commercials by Nike.

I don't think the NBA front office is worried yet, but, um, Memphis' advance through the western conference playoffs will be monitored; and the appropriate memos sent to the refs as necessary

and if the Mavericks win game 2, the league, er, might get involved there too

probably lakers heat, but I think they'd settle for bulls/celtics vs lakers.

Wow. I think David Stern must have read this thread. I never saw this coming, but like I said, I'm not much of a basketball fan. I didn't even know Memphis and Atlanta were good.

A Mavs/Heat series would be a ratings winner. Dirk is really getting the attention he deserves thanks to Barkley. If they finish off the Lakers, his hype will be off the charts.

The league would love to see Durant and OKC continue to advance.

After Durant led Team USA to the gold medal in the world championships this summer and he announced his contract extension with an understated tweet, it became pretty clear that the powers-that-be want him to be a superstar, and for the just-a-bunch-of-nice-kids-that-love-to-play-together Thunder to do well.

Does the NBA Jam style computer assist kick in tonight?

Well, I guess one side of the bracket is still on course. Perhaps it doesn't matter who the Heat beat.

Better drama if Mavs make it to the Finals and Cuban gets beat by the famed Miami trio.
