There is a lot of butt hurt among NBA writers this morning.

Making all kind of excuses for the Lakers poor showing and grudgingly giving credit to the Mavs. They say the Lakers are old and tired. Well, so are the Mavs. I'm not going to look it up, but I would say the average age of the Mavs team is just as old as the Lakers. They say the Lakers have added stress of being 2 time defending champs and that those extra games from the past 2 years have really taken it out of them. What? If you have already won two I would think they could play pretty stress free knowing what it takes to get to the finals and accomplish the task at hand.

If it was the Mavs collapsing like this all you would hear is how soft they are and good the opponent is. Right now, except for the TNT analyst crew and members of the Dallas media there are a lot of writers trying to cover there asses in picking the Lakers to roll the Mavs. Begrudgingly giving credit to the Mavs but really just making excuses for the Lakers. I'm loving it and hope the Mavs can keep it up.

If the Lakers really can just turn it on and off as they wish like the writers have been telling us all year, they better do it quick. Otherwise they are making a bunch of these national writers look just as soft and dysfunctional as themselves.

I take it back. I did feel like looking up the average ages for the two teams. Top 8 players of the Mavs = 31.63 years old. Top 8 players of the Lakers = 29.6. These writers and analyst trying to use age as an excuse against the Mavs need to find a different angle.

The difference is that only 4 of the Lakers' top 8 players could play in Dallas' top 8 player rotation.

'they could play pretty stress free knowing what it takes to get to the finals and accomplish the task at hand.'

This is a big part of the Lakers' problem. They are TOO stress free and expect teams to fold at their feet (see Game 1). They are so used to getting that key shot or play that, like last night, they crumble when they don't.

it was funny listening to Kerr/Albert last night talk about the 'changing of the guard' in the NBA and how these young teams were beating the Spurs, Celtics, and Lakers. Then they quickly realized that the Mavs are just as old as the Lakers.

Soooooo then also only 4of the Mavs players could play in the top 8 for the Lakers?

Lakers should have 4 of the top 5 players in this series. But they're not playing like it.

In theory
Dirk
Kobe
Pau
Bynum
Odom
Chandler
Terry
Marion/Kidd/Artest

The ball and Mavs players are constantly moving, which dredges up at least one big disclaimer to consider when someone hits you with the Lakers' fatigue alibi after their three long playoff runs.

The Mavericks, folks, are also the older team.

Barea (26) and the tireless Tyson Chandler (28) are the only players under 30 that Mavs coach Rick Carlisle used in Wednesday's 93-81 triumph.

bringing up fatigue because of a long playoff run the past 3 years is beyond retarded. the lakers are just playing sloppy basketball.

Here is a secret that a lot of people dont seem to realize.

The NBA is a grown amsn game.

Very rare to see a young NBA team have big sucesss in the NBA.

I think I saw a stat of the top 5 oldest teams in the NBA and I swear it was

Dallas
Miami
Boston
San Antonio
LA

I cant remember exactly what it was, but the 5 oldest teams were all elite teams.

10 oldest teams in the league:

10. Atlanta
9. Utah
8. Chicago
7. San Antonio
6. Orlando
5. Boston
4. Dallas
3. Denver
2. LA
1. Miami

Who would have guessed that Miami is the oldest team in the league? But they are, if you measure by average age.
