If Dallas could pull this off it would be awesome. D. Howard paired with Dirk while he is at his most efficient would be awesome.

Now to find a future point guard.

I will believe this when it happens by the way...

That would be the most dominant front-court in league.

Only problem I see is Tyson gets $12.6, Beaubois is $1.1 and Dwight is $16.6; might have to give up more than those two to get Howard. I think Orlando would do it.

Houston and Dallas should be 2 of the frontrunners for a trade. Houston dangling all those young guys and picks while Dallas has legit center to give back along with lesser trade assets

Yeah, not sure Dallas has a lot of sexy trading pieces.

RoddyB and JJ Barea and a 29 year old Tyson Chandler (who will want a nice big contract) only get you so far. Jason Terry's ending contract? Meh. Not quite as sexy as Andrew Bynum.

If the lakers decide to "blow it up", I'd be surprised if Howard didn't end up in LA. LA's just got more attractive pieces to trade.

Lamar Odom, Shannon Brown and Matt Barnes will be in the last contract year as well.

Howard for Bynum and Odom?

Soupy, The Lakers will try to get Nelson & Howard.

howard's going to LA. everyone knows that. that magic will get pieces in return though, they're not doing Shaq II.

I want Nelson a hell of a lot more than Howard. It would finally be an answer at PG. I'd give them Gasol and anyone not named Kobe, Odom and Bynum -- and maybe two anyones.

I'd give up Odom and Bynum for Nelson and Howard

Of course you would. But why would Orlando?

Because physically Bynum is a poor man's Dwight (with a better shooting touch). Odom ain't bad when's he on either. I'd hate to lose Odom but the trade would be pretty fair.

because it's better than letting howard walk out the door. and they actually get bigger. plus, more offense, which is Stan's biggest complaint about Howard.

Simple that pic is an abortion.

Anyone ever notice the allure of playing in TX, FL, TN?

No way that's a fair trade. I don't think Odom+Bynum would be a fair trade.

How is an 11ppg bynum and 13ppg odom provide more offense than a 13ppg/6apg Nelson and 23ppg Howard?

it's not necessarily about being exactly fair is it is getting something for Howard for Orlando. If they don't pull the trigger, he walks free and clear at the end of the year. If it's between nothing and Odom and Bynum, which do you choose?

From what's been rumored, LA is supposedly going to try and get Howard in a trade taht obviously includes bynum and either include Nelson w/ him, or sign Chris Paul in the offseason. While this is probably like the Yankees in baseball (everyone just assumes the players want to go there) can you imagine a team of Howard, Kobe, and Paul, w/ Gasol? Ouch.

Paul has one more season to go in NOLA. The Lakers are over the cap, so they can't sign either player outright. Doubt they have enough chips to trade for both players.

But these "rumors" come up about every single free agent star ever. They can probably all be traced to the wasteland known as Lakersground.

I think that's why they attempt to dump Barnes and Odom on Orlando in the Howard for Bynum deal. That dumps significant salary and puts them in a "Miami" type situation where 75% if not more of their salary is tied up in 3 players. I don't know the numbers, but dumping those salaries would make is possible, albeit probably unlikely.

Agreed, but that's the same Lakersground that rumored the Gasol trade (which was ridiculously one side via LA) and everyone discounted it until it happened. just saying...

I think Dirk and Howard's games would be extremely complimentary.

But I'll give Dallas about a .5% chance of landing Dwight Howard.

I'll see you and raise you Deron Williams. He's from the Dallas area and Dallas should be in the market for a PG next offseason (if not sooner.) Trade Chandler and some expiring contract from Howard and sign deron williams. Howard, Williams, and Dirk? No more excuses for Dirk having no help at that point.

Barnes is a free agent in a summer next year anyway, so he is irrelevant.

Lets say LA somehow gets this trade through:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=62weu8u

In the summer of 2012, their contracts look like this:
19mm Howard
28mm Kobe
19mm Gasol
7mm Artest
6mm Walton
4mm Blake
3mm Fisher

That's 86mm. That assumes they let Shannon Brown and Matt Barnes walk and don't sign anyone this summer.

Probably not getting any FA space.

Gasol was rumored to be traded for like two years. Every team's message board was putting together senarios where they could pick him up. Meh.

While that would be so very awesome, I think Williams resigns in NJ. Now if Howard came over first, I could see a guard like Williams or CP3 very seriously consider Dallas as their next destination.

Still, that's a total pipe dream.

Hey dumbass, which one of those links talked about Chris Paul being rumored to sign as a FA with LA?

I never discounted the Howard to LA rumors. They have been everywhere.

being about Chris Paul. In that post you mention both Paul and threw in part of the quote about Howard. If you were referring to Paul, as you will no doubt claim, why didn't you just quote the sentence about Paul? you specifically added in the Howard part as well.
