dallas choking against miami and yankees blowing 3-0 lead vs. boston both had much more on the line, and will be remembered forever. this game will likely not be remembered beyond this series, as Dallas has more significant games ahead.

but as far as a single game choke, it doesn't get much worse than what OKC did tonight. brooks completely destroyed any hopes they had by leaving 3 non-shooters on the court for the last 11 minutes while a 15 point lead disappeared.

even if this is true, it still doesn't excuse not making offense-for-defense substitutions in the last minute. you know dallas is going to use its TOs so you can get cook out after the shot. that's basketball coaching 101 and even an idiot like brooks should realize this.

you just cannot get good looks when you only have 2 shooters on the court. they don't respect thabo and are practically begging OKC to give him the ball, which they did.

well if Cook is all you have as an option after you lose your 3rd option, that's a roster problem

he's shooting 42% from 3 this year, which is, uhh, kinda good (11th best in the NBA)

he's not a go-to guy, but he serves a purpose, which is to space the court. you can't abandon him like dallas does to thabo.
