You guys see how he is impacting the playoffs? How he outplayed Westbrook in the clutch again? How he hit big shots? How he plays impact team defense? How he doesnt take bad shots? How he gets big clutch rebounds? How he gets respect from the refs? Yes he sucked in the playoffs before this year but this is his potential on display

And who was it that said Kidd has never hit a big shot in the playoffs and never would?

I can't believe how much space and time they give him on three pointers. He has all day to check the wind, tie his shoes, look for teammate, then decide to shoot basically a set shot.

He's been phenomenal this postseason.

Know it wasn't me who said bad things about Kidd.

He is the most unselfish basketball player in NBA history. He has been particularly clutch closing out games. There may have been more athletically talented PG's in the league but not sure anyone matches his basketball IQ.

Kidd was huge tonight even though he shot horribly. It's all the little things. Clutch steals, minimal turnovers, no bad shots, solid pick and roll defense.

Hot sports opinion --> If Kidd and Westbrook switched spots then the Thunder win this series with Kidd at PG. Harden would hit his superstar potential and carry the 2nd scoring load, Durant wouldn't have to work as hard to get open looks, Ibaka and Collison would be scorers, team defense would be much better, and the crunch offense would have more focus.

I'm not sure if I expressed my displeasure with the Kidd acquisition on this forum, but I did to my friends. I'm checking in and enjoying a nice crow sandwich right now.

Westbrook in the series had the exact same number of turnovers and assists (24), shot 36% from the field and 20% on 3s.

stolen from dallasbasketball.com:
quote:
Did you guys catch how Kidd set up Dirk's game winning 3? The instant his pass to Marion left his hand he was gesturing to Marion exactly where the ball needed to go (to Dirk for the three). Kidd wanted Dirk to take a three at that moment, knew Dirk would be covered if he passed it directly to him, so he created just enough space for Dirk to get a clean shot by passing it through Marion. That is Kidd at his best, seeing the game a move ahead of everyone else.

Local radio Ben and Skin have been driving this point home today and tonight - one of the biggest differences between 2006 and 2011 is how the coach trusts his players in the clutch. Avery was always micromanaging the team to the bitter end with extreme tension, while they say Carlisle generally has Kidd direct the offense. Even though it seems like Kidd just dribbles up, hands it to Jet and goes to the corner. There's something else to it.

+1

I cant stand Jason Kidd, but Ive given him his props in all the other forums I post on, and I will do it here.

He's played well this post season, and if the Mavs win the next four it will make up for him not showing up at all in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 playoffs.

Why would anyone hate Kidd? The guy puts it on the line every night. He is completely unselfish & does every little thing to make his team better. He is the defitition of a guy I would root for. Being that he has given so much to the game and still hasn't gotten a ring makes me root for him even more.
