Having a discussion with a buddy about whether or not Lebron with Wade/Bosh is comparable to Jordan with Pippen/Grant and then Pippen/Kukoc. We agree that Grant/Kukoc vs Bosh is a wash. We disagree on Wade vs Pippen. I won't give you my position yet so as not to sway your arguments. Lets hear it, who is better? Wade or Pippen?

Wade is much better than Pippen.

kind of depends on who your other player is. Pippen fit better with Jordan, Wade fits better with Lebron.

Pippen rode the coattails of the greatest player ever. He was nothing more then a really really good role player. He was exposed when Jordan retired for a couple years and suddenly the Bulls sucked.

I kind of look at Tony Parker the same way. When Duncan was the best player in the NBA, he was a stud. When Duncan started showing his age this postseason, Parker started looking suspect.

Nothing against either, but they were both put into a category that they never belonged in but were there because their teammate made them better then they were.

The bulls won 55 games the first year that Jordan was out of the league. Pippen was the All Star Game MVP while averaging 22 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and a league leading 2.9 steals per game while shooting 49%. He put up very similar numbers the next year.

I'd say that they are pretty even. Wade is a little better offensively and Pippen is a little better defensively. If I had to take one then I'd probably take Wade, but you couldn't go wrong with either one.

biggest thing in pippen's favor, he could legitimately guard all 5 positions at an above-average to elite level.

Pippen was a far better defender and put up comparable numbers to the best SFs in the league when MJ was out. The Bulls in their day run this iteration of the Heat out of the gym 9 times out of 10. Hell I'd probably take a 1-2 of Stockton and the mailman before I took Lebron Wade Bosh.

That period of time in the NBA was special for a reason. I don't think we've seen that level of play for a while. Maybe in the Kobe-Shaq years, but definitely not in some time.

get real..shaq was a nice complementary player on that team..but wade took the heat on his back and willed his team to a title..

pippen never did that...

Wade vs. Pippen is about a wash, but I would actually give Pippen the nod, but my opinion is biased.

Also, Jordan + Pippen + Kukoc + Rodman > James + Wade + Boch + Miami's 6th man.

I'm not sure MJ even won a playoff series without Pippen.

I think Pippen was better, but it is close. Lots of people forget that the Bulls were good when Jordan was out, and Pippen put up some great stats.

And while Wade won a title without Lebron, he did have Shaq, who was still very good at the time.

Kinda apples and oranges.

Wade is probly the better one-on-one player. Can take over a game offensively. Has been the best player on a championship team, so he can get into the conversation with MJ/Magic/Bird, but obviously he doesn't compare favorably.

Pippen was probably the best complimentary player of all time. One of the best defenders of all time. Extremely versatile offensive game, though he wasn't necessarily dominant. Played a crucial role on six champoinship teams. Could have been seven if not for Hue Hollins... haha

For all the English Soccer fans out there, I almost feel like this argument is like comparing the worst team in the premier league (Wade) to the best team in the First Division (Pippen). No real answer.

Pippen was a great defender, good rebounder and could score. Wade is a great scorer, and for his size decent rebounder and defender. I think Pippen gives you more versatility, size, etc.

I would probably take Pippen..... he stayed on his feet more (don't care for floppers).
