They want the top 2 picks to take both Irving and Williams.

Cleveland would take on the salary of Rip Hamilton in exchange for the Piston's #8 pick. They will then trade the #8 and #4 to the T-Wolves for the #2 spot. Then they would buy out Hamilton and let him be a free agent. The Pistons would be giving up the 8th pick and Hamilton, but would free up at least $25 million.

That would be pretty nice for the Cavs. We will see if it actually happens though.

With 3 years left on Baron Davis' contract, wouldn't Cleveland want to trade Baron to free up playing time for Irving along with some cash? Not sure what is left on his contract but Baron made $14M this year.

cant see how the pistons would do this without asking for at least a player in return..but then again maybe the ownership situation there is in dire straits..

although that's obviously not the case in cleveland with gilbert..first he takes on baron davis's massive contract to collect the #1 pick..now he is willing to take on rip hamilton's $25 million buy-out to get the #2 pick...

For the second time in three drafts.

Why don't they trade this year's #4 and next year's first round pick for this year's #1 overall?

Do you mean number 2? Next years draft will most likely be much better and deeper.

Hey, it would be the best move in the management career of Isiah Thomas.
