I couldn't agree more. He actually thinks that if a player dribbling steps out of bounds, but only when he isn't touching the ball, it isn't a violation. Either that, or he doesn't know how to tell a joke.

I am speaking for myself. I don't want some idiot who thinks a flagrant from behind is actually an offensive foul to coach any team that matters to me. I don't want some idiot who thinks the out-of-bounds rule is optional to coach any team that matters to me.

But that's just me! Maybe you like losing.

wrong...Marv Albert was by far and away the worst ever in the Rockets/Knicks finals, and it's not even close

Almost every time I hear him speak, I think, "Who is that woman?"

He was bad. And the Mavs missed open shots left and right. They'll be alright.

Mark Jackson provides nothing positive to the broadcast and actually makes JVG sound good.

I would take Bill Walton and Steve "Snapper" Jones over JVG and Mark Jackson anyday.

Mark Jackson is awful, too. He was the author of the "they're having an awfully difficult time scoring on the offensive end" gem I started a thread about.

JVG, however, remains an idiot. I can't figure out how he came so close to winning. But, truthfully, I still can't figure out how Dick Vermeil ever won anything, either. These coaches who go into the color commentator role make the whole profession look bad. Exception: Bob Knight, whom I think is outstanding.

Doug Collins was solid. Hubie Brown offered the best X's and O's info.

Whoever suggested Bill Walton and Snapper Jones over Breen/JVG/Jackson needs to jump off a cliff.

I love JVG as a commentator. He's one of the most honest personalities on television. No need to get all butthurt because you dont agree with one of his observations.

Someone [correctly] pointed out your favorite commentator sounded like a moron last night, and you can't help but rush to JVG's defense. Sounds like you're the one who's butthurt.

I dont care who likes him. But I prefer him to most of the yahoos being used today. Its not his fault the Mavs bench sucked last night.

JVG is great if you want an analyst who doesn't know the rules of basketball. I'd like somebody a bit more... sentient.

He can be funny at times, but he wasn't joking last night when he made some incredibly stupid comments.

If you think he was joking, it's likely you're the one who doesn't understand.

Personally I've always thought he was at terrible commentator.

I think you're forgetting about the season Magic did color commentary. Example of his "insight": "Oh my GOODNESS!!!!!"
