Dallas hasn't had the benefit of a bunch of cheats getting together to game the NBA. What Miami has done isn't impressive.

Great thread. Very timely. I'd love to see wins vs payroll for NBA teams also matched up with net income. Because due to the Salary Cap it's not necessarily better to have a big payroll becuase it limits trade opportunities and free agent signings - See NY Knicks.

Would somebody please search for the threads? Guitarsoup has repeatedly said the Mavericks were handcuffed by Dampier, Jet, Dirk, etc and couldn't sign and trade. In fact, he started multiple threads about the topic before I humiliated him with the facts.

Same story with the Spurs. We heard about how nimble they were financially. Obviously, that was completely wrong as well.

Standard garbage from guitarsoup. Here are his basic steps.
1. Make up nonsense
2. Argue and call names when challenged
3. Ignore thread after being embarrassed
4. Switch sides on discussion and hope that nobody notices

Yeah, you don't know what you are talking about. Any team in the league would trade for Dirk. Jet has been a bad contract, but not as bad as the Rashard Lewis contract that was traded this year. Dampier's contract has been considered one of the most attractive contracts because it was unguaranteed, which is how Dallas got Tyson Chandler for free.

Dallas couldn't sign more than a MLE free agent, but neither can most teams that are playoff contenders. I know you get confused easily, but that's ok.

Dallas has always been able to trade bad contracts (Walker/LaFrenz). But they have never been able to make big splashes in free agency.
