it's becoming obvious he would've never lead cleveland to a title..to get his rings he needs to be along for the ride...

I agree. Months ago, someone on ESPN was commenting on how everyone in the world had made LBJ into the next MJ. LBJ's talents were too good to be anything less. But mentally, he may not have what MJ had, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Maybe LBJ knows this, and he chose to go to a franchise where he could play option 1B and put up 26/7/7 for the rest of his career and win some championships. Wade is a proven closer and has the will to finish games as well as anyone. Plus they have been good friends since playing for Team USA. Seems like LBJ got a pretty good deal if you ask me. Who wouldn't want to put up good stats and win some championships with your friends?

What gives the media the right to declare that LBJ has to be the closer that leads his team to a title? Although, over the next 6-8 years, I will be shocked if LBJ doesn't pick up at least one or two Finals MVPs. Wade is having a huge series through 3 games, but LBJ has been a stud in the 2011 playoffs.

Still think he would have been better off in Chicago, but we'll never know now.

I don't understand the argument for lebron (or lebron + wade) going to Chicago. Isn't the biggest issue with the heat 'not enough basketballs to go around'? This problem would be a lot worse with rose in the mix as well. These guys need to be surrounded with long distance snipers, not more ball handlers. None of them are great outside shooters, so they don't compliment each other to well.

You forgot, like I did, that he was the reason Miami beat Boston and Chicago.

So we have forgotten the Boston and Chicago series already?

Boston: 28 pts, 8 rebounds, 3.6 assists
Chicago: 24 pts,8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and D-Rose shot 6% when being guarded by LBJ.
Previous 10 Games: 29.6 points; 8.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds

I don't know if ya'll have even watched the game, but the 3rd best player in the league is being guarded by a 38 year old. Until the Dwade vs. Jason Kidd matchup changes Wade is gonna dominate the scoring in this series.

i forgot that lebron was responsible for 23 points in the second half. dwade was responsible for 14 points

yeah, lebron was dickriding his way to a title

don't forget, the guy is the reason the heat are even in the finals in the first place

does anyone else notice how lebron has pretty much shut down whomever he's guarding in the 4th quarter this series? it's been pretty impressive

The butthurt over LeBron is getting kind of annoying. The guy was a free agent and took what he thought was the best job for him. ESPN then offered him a lot of money to announce it live on ESPN, which he then donated to the Boys and Girls club of America.

Now somehow he has turned into a guy who rapes peoples mothers.

MJ had Pippen
Kobe had Shaq (and others for his last two)
Magic had Kareem

I could go on....its getting old.

Oh yeah and let us not forget that D-Wade had Shaq during his first title run.

But lets not let facts get in the way of our blind hatred of a guy.

And now Wade has Lebron.

I don't exactly know who you're preaching to, because nobody here has really shown any "hatred" for Lebron.

Kobe never left
MJ never left
Magic never left
Bird never left
Can't fault Wade he hasn't left either.

the key here is that other than Kobe, the other three couldn't leave because they signed long term contracts really early, and it's pretty damn easy to get free agents to come to LA, CHI, and BOS

dwade said it himself there was no way in hell he'd ever go to cleveland, and bosh said the same thing in an interview last month. Kobe tried to go to the clippers to force the lakers to get him a sidekick, since he couldnt do jack on his own

there's no doubt lebron is a big part of the reason the heat are where they are at..he was also a big part of getting the cavs to where they were..but when it came time to get the cavs over the hump..he couldn't do it..late in games (like you saw in game 2)..he'd be jacking up three's with seconds on the shot clock..or he'd pass off to a teammate and they'd have to jack up a last second shot..but in game 3 of this series..that changed..wade took control and the heat won while lebron sat back watched it happen..if the heat are gonna win this series..they need wade to have the ball late in games..not lebron...

If his goal was winning championships, it's looking like he made the right decision. If his goal was his personal legacy, I'd say he didn't. And I think that's more a result of "The Decision" rather than anything else.

I will say this though, I don't see the marriage ending well. Winning obviously helps any relationship, but one of the two will get tired of not being the unquestioned guy at some point. That may be 3-5 years from now, but it will be interesting to see. All I could think about during Wade's post game interview on the court was that those comments couldn't have sat well with LeBron.

There's a difference between having another quality player with you and building a super team to win a championship.

Don't call yourself "King" if you're going to take a pay cut to play second fiddle.

MJ had Pippen

Pippen wasn't that great. The years MJ was gone say enough about him. He barely made it into the Hall of Fame, and was lucky to be playing second fiddle to MJ. I think LeBron is more comparable to Pippen than he is to MJ.

Kobe has won with different rosters around him.

Magic DID have Kareem, but Kareem got hurt in a game in the Finals and Magic stepped up to take his place and play the 5, winning it by himself.

Kobe never left - his ego drove Shaq out, and demanded a trade to Chicago before Memphis gave LA a bag of doritos and a pack of kools for Pau Gasol
MJ never left - had Pippen, and Chicago is a free agent destination unlike Cleveland
Magic never left - had Kareem and Worthy
Bird never left - had McHale, Parish, etc.
Can't fault Wade he hasn't left either. - had Shaq when he won this ring

If you put any of those other superstars in Lebron's situation they all would left. If you worked for an incompetent company for 7 years, you would leave too.

Jordan was the leader of his team when they won championships. LeBron is playing second fiddle, just as Pippen did.

1993-1994 Chicago Bulls:

55-27 (4th seed in the east)
Took the eventual Eastern Conference Champion Knicks to a game 7 in the 2nd round (Chicago won in 6 the previous year because Pippen owned Charle's Smith's stuff in the final seconds of game 5 when it was tied 2-2.)

I wouldn't call the 94 Bulls a complete failure. They were much better than the D-Leaue 2010-2011 Cleveland Cavaliers.

I would have also left Cleveland if I were Lebron. But if I had the talent to be the greatest player of all time like Lebron does, I would have gone to a team that allowed me to win championships AND still left me some room for personal greatness.

he was obviously deferring with passing the ball off..i saw that often..he didn't want the ball in his hands like in game 2..and when you say lockdown d in the 4th..i dont know what you're talking about..the mavs made a run to tie the game late..how do you call that 'lockdown d'?

again..i'm not saying he didn't get them there..he did..but he is not the guy to count on to have the ball late in games in the playoffs..but that's ok..because the heat already have a guy for him that he did not have in cleveland with wade...

How can people honestly say Lebron is playing second fiddle? All you have to do is look at the stats. LJ averages more points, rebounds, assists, steals, and has a better FG%. Wade has more blocks. I'm not about to compare LJ or Wade to MJ, but Wade's numbers compared to LJ's are more like Pippen's to MJs, not the other way around.

That's a fact!
