(I know, another Dirk thread)

Am I just biased, or have the refs missed a number of calls on Dirk during these playoffs? Admittedly, it's hard for me to be objective, but it seems like he gets fouled pretty regularly when he drives the lane, but the refs swallow their whistles.

Last night was the first time I thought he wasn't getting his fair share. When it's so physical when he goes to the hoop and then Lebron get's that weak a** call on Haywood, it does tend to raise questions.

Cuz he doesn't act like he got shot every time he has the ball like D-Wade and 'Bron. He's not very strong but you can't tell when he is trying to get to the rim and finish.

I agree that he should have gone to the line on at least 3 of the drives where he missed shots, but these playoffs have been some of the best officiated basketball games at the professional level I've ever seen. Sure there have been missed calls here and there, but these people are human. A lot of the bad calls I've noticed were ones where the ref didn't have a good angle on the play, but had to blow the whistle based on the reaction (Wade "pushed" by Kidd on a rebound under the basket, LeBron flopping away from D-Steve, for example).

He was fouled (no call) on the last shot where he drove and made the layup to put the Mavs up by 3. Should have been on the line to ice the game.

What really bothers me are the calls where no one touches LeBron or Wade and the official calls it. Even if it was a foul, it should be a no call because the official only saw the reaction and not the foul itself.

i took less issue with the no-calls on Dirk as I did with the rule violations that weren't being called.

Wade hanging on the rim after the foul but before the shot goes in. Interference. No bucket.

Lebron on the tip in in the first quarter while the ball was clearly in the cylinder. Goaltending. No bucket.

Not calling Miller for fouling when Kidd had a clear path to the basket with shots and the ball. Instead they made Dallas take it out.

And then the inconsistent calls...

Terry misses a FT, the refs swallow the whistle...until they see that Tyson has got the rebound, and then they blow a lane violation.

Calling the shot clock violation on Miami and when the ball was already in Kidd's hands as he was about to run the fast break. On the other side of the court, the same play happens, yet Wade is allowed to run the break.

Accept for the offensive interference call, I don't see any reason to complain.

If Dallas loses this series, it'll be because they were bad on the boards and kept letting the Heat get up by 15.

If Miami loses this series, it'll be because they consistently failed in the 4th quarter.

Neither team will be able to complain about the refs.

Adding to MW03's post, did anybody else notice the Chris Bosh catch at the top of the key/ don't dribble/take 3-4 steps and get fouled on a runner just inside the freethrow line last night other than me? I wasn't on the board last night, maybe it was mentioned.

That was a ridiculous walk with no call.

He did manage to let go before the ball went through, probably the right call here.

I believe here the call was a loose ball foul. Kidd had tipped it ahead to himself but they argued that he had not established possession.

Don't forget about Stoyakovic (sp) taking about 4 steps in the lane.

The refs do appear to not be calling that many fouls all around. I believe Dirk has adjusted, thus not overreacting to win they do not call the foul.

you are an idiot. by hanging on the rim wade moved the basketball goal which automatically disallows the bucket since the ball was not in his hands.

I think the refs have done a good job so far. It's really frustrating to see Bosh and Wade flop around like they got shot but Dirk will get a couple calls also.

the problem i have with your list is that it is all Heat violations. So are you saying the Mavs had no violations that didn't get called? none? Like Game 3 Kidd walk??

This has been a very well officiated series.

I'm watching the game as a mavericks fan, so i'm going to notice more "injustices" to the mavs. That being said, it has been a pretty well officiated series in terms of personal fouls.

i am just going to use http://refcalls.com/ for all my concerns about the referees. They have done a pretty good job so far, and they cleared up the Chalmers' 3 at the end of the 1st in game 3 for me.

Dirk normally gets more calls than he should, and yes he flops as much as any one else

Dirk hasn't been getting the usual calls in this series. Haslem hooked him several times on drives last night. He does that every night to everybody. Dirk gets those calls for 82 games. Lebron is flopping like crazy and got at least three fictitious fouls last night. Wade is getting away with a little stuff on defense but calling pretty solid when he's on offense.

For an NBA series, the refs have been really solid. Of course, they're blowing simple calls in every game. But less than normal. I think the Heat have slight edge in help, but they have two stars vs one star. This series is completely different than 2006.

I don't understand or like the treatment of Wade. He has openly challenged and screamed at referees in every game. Those petulent acts typically draw a technical. It would be okay, but they haven't given Carlisle the same latitude. He has drawn a couple of technicals on extremely quick whistles.
