Erik Spoelstra S U C K S. We might see the first ever firing of a coach DURING a playoff series. Carlisle is destroying him.

If Carlisle was coaching the Heat and Spoelstra was coaching the Mavs, the Heat would have swept already.

Honestly don't know much about the guy. You kind of have to be a Pat Riley or Phil Jackson type not to be lost among that much super-stardom. Doesn't help that he looks young either.

He does need to get his team focused in the 4th. Its like they lose all basketball knowledge and ability in the last 9 minute of games.

i think spoelstra is a good young coach, but he's been absolutely owned by carlisle. but that's nothing to be ashamed of because carlisle is a VERY good coach, he just doesn't get much pub for it.

i question whether this was the best gig for spoelstra at this time, but i do think he's going to be a pretty good nba coach.

He doesn't have the skins on the wall for the superstars to respect him.

His coaching style is a reflection of that. Basically lets the players run the show offensively. I will say they play good defense at least, which usually is a reflection of one's coach (not sure in this case).

This is the biggest finals coaching mismatch since 2006.

I could make the argument that the real reason the series is tied is because Brendan Haywood is injured, and Dirk and Terry both have nagging injuries.

I would say that the Heat are pretty well coached on defense. Their technique, rotations, aggressive play, etc. are among the best in the league before you take into account their ridiculous athleticism. Dallas hasn't had a good game offensively so far in the series, which is hard to imagine.

On offense, it's hard to diagnose the issues when you have two super stars at the top of their game on the same floor and with Lebron going into Scottie Pippen mode.

If Lebron was playing like Pippen this series would be over.

Agree that the Heat are well coached defensively, but all Erik Spoelstra threads have to have the link (and gif) to Spoelstra in Scarface.

I would recommend the video (link below) because of the music and other fine works.
