The last time I was this personally interested in an NBA Finals with no real stake in either team was Lakers/Sixers back in 2001. Monster Hollywod dream team versus an underdog lead by a better coach, better defensive big, and better playing-his-ass-off team leader.

The Dark Side won that series, though.

Yep. Just goes to show you how anticlimactic the NBA Finals usually are. If you get a decently good series, you're happy. If you get a series like this, you're extremely happy.

The fact that I'm veeeery happy with this series despite it being a Mavs/Heat (I'm a Rockets lifer and LeBron was my least favorite non-McGrady NBA player, even before the Decision) just proves how good this series is.

I usually stop paying any real attention after the conference finals. I called Dallas in 7 in the predictions thread, but I'll admit that I'm surprised that it's gotten this far.

I've haven't seen anything like it. And to have my team in it... wow

umm......last years NBA finals were awesome.

I don't know if they were awesome, but they were good. A lot of the drama was a little to manufactured, but that deciding game with Artest, of all people, sealing the deal was a great, great game.

Last years Finals was pretty much all blowouts as well. game 7 was close but was an ugly game as the Finals MVP went 6 for 24
