Joel Anthony was noticeably absent as well. Still don't get the benching of Ilgauskas either.

Maybe it's because Erik spoelstra is not that good of a coach.

Bibby didn't play because he was getting scorched. Same reason that Peja didn't get many minutes in this series. Good job by Spoelstra, but it was a couple of games too late.

Chalmers was playing much better on both sides of ball than Bibby. And House looked pretty solid as the backup.

Starting Chalmers was a terrible decision. It allowed Terry to run wild without an effective counter punch off the bench for Miami. Carlisle did force his hand by starting JJ. House played zero defense.

Doesn't make giving up 6.2 million look dumb. He's a hard working dude that would absolutely do anything for a title including giving up millions of dollars. Miami was the best choice for him this year. I hope he lands on a contender again next year. Let's get all the remaining 2002 Kings a title.

How did he give up 6.2 Million? Wasn't he bought out for 5.5 Million? He didn't get that money?

They bought out this year-- but he was owed another 6.2 for next year..

At least he'll get some of it back from next year's contract, but he'll probably be signing near veteran minimum.

I think he had another full year after this one on his contract as well. Not sure the specifics but I've seen the 6.2mm reported.

The alternative was allowing Mike Bibby to attempt to guard JJ Barea. Fail.

But Chalmers was not effectively guarding JJ anyway the entire series. JJ was missing wide open layups and jumpers until Game 5 when he started hitting them. Didn't matter who was guarding him. What they lost in starting Chalmers was a difference-maker coming off the bench to seize momentum. Chalmers had basically cancelled out Terry in terms of offensive contribution during a lot of the series, if not always in the numbers but also in the momentum-changing capability. Miami panicked and made too many changes to the rotation, including limiting Anthony's minutes as well.

What about Miller, what happened to him? Early in the series he was a big problem.

I guess Spoelstra realized it's not 2003.

That was probably the worst spending of 6 million dollars in the history of mankind.
