Simmons is a good writer but he gets a little wordy for me sometimes when he goes off on 500 word tangents. The Grantland format of putting those in the margin was quite refreshing.

He'd have a legit claim if he toned down the pop culture references. I get that it's part of his style, but damn. As mentioned above, he gets off on tangents far too often.

As it stands, I think he's the best basketball writer in the country. He's not nearly as insightful when discussing football or baseball.

For being such a hyped up and anticipated web-site where so much money went into bringing in really some top notch writers, that website sure isn't very easy on the eyes.

I wouldn't call it 'ugly' per se, but it really looks a step above most of the old Geocities websites.

Moreover, a Dirk victory over Miami is a victory of skill over athleticism. A very important win for Europeans and those with European descent. It means that the white man can dominate everything. Even basketball.
