Does anybody know if the Rockets still have the option to trade with the Knicks this year?

I think is from the TMAC trade, but my memory is a little fuzzy.

They get New York's pick this year, as long as its not in the top 5. Its top 5 protected for the next 4 years, and then Houston would get 2nd round picks from NY in '15 and '16 if it came to that.

That pick is lottery protected, and the Rockets probably aren't good enough to sneak in over teams like Portland, Memphis, or maybe even Minnesota.

Ryan, I'm no Rockets fan, but they've definitely been keeping their head above water this season and could be active at the trade deadline. I wouldn't count them out until that deadline passes. From what I've seen Lowry has been playing lights out, if they could steal Kaman from the Hornets for some of their lesser used young talent, I could see them sneaking in.
