The "Rodeo Road Trip" started in 2003 when the Spurs moved into their new facility, which shares time with the Stock Show & Rodeo each Feb.

This is one of the more amazing long-term feats in NBA history, including what they're doing now:

03: 8-1 8 gm win streak
04: 6-1 5 gm " "
05: 5-2 3 gm " "
06: 6-2 6 gm " "
07: 4-4 2 gm " "
08: 6-3 4 gm " "
09: 5-3 2 gm " "
10: 4-4 2 gm " "
11: 6-3 4 gm " "
12: 6-0 6 gm " " (3gms left in this trip)

Total: 56-23 .709

In ten years, not one losing record. Their winning percent, all on road, is 71%. In an 82 game season, this would equate to 57 wins.

No, I'll show you something impressive.

99: 37-13 .740
00: 53-29 .646
01: 58-24 .707
02: 58-24 .707
03: 60-22 .732
04: 57-25 .695
05: 59-23 .720
06: 63-19 .768
07: 58-24 .707
08: 56-26 .683
09: 54-28 .659
10: 50-32 .610
11: 61-21 .744

Average over that span: .701. The highest winning percentage among any team, in any sport. Third winningest team in NBA history, and have made the playoffs 31 times out of 35.

I challenge you to name a more consistently great team in their entire history.

And according to this article, if you exclude the ABA records, they move up to second all-time winning %, behind the Lakers.

And might as well throw this in here.

Great photo. I'm just glad that Tim's got 4 titles and Manu/Tony have 3 to validate the regular season numbers over that span.

With the rapid development of Splitter in his second year, the infusion of quality young playmaking athleticism, and (most importantly) Tony Parker playing at a near-MVP level... the Spurs are emerging as a legit threat to win the West.

Unfortunately, we suffered a pair of costly injuries in the (otherwise miraculously lucky) OT victory over the Clippahs yesterday: Manu is going to be out (ribs) for a while and it looks like Splitter (calf) will be too. SUCKS.

Yeah, it's gonna set Manu way back in getting back into game shape. And not having another big man on the floor is definitely gonna hurt, especially with a very tough stretch to end the road trip, and then Chicago at home.

Manu has turned into a brittle glass sculpture. The Spurs are at risk of putting too many miles on Duncan at this point in the season. With Splitter out, they're down to 3 bigs. They have got to find someone else to play down there if they want a serious shot at contending. Manu just needs about 15 regular season games under his belt and he will be ready for the playoffs.

I don't think Splitter's injury is that serious. He's still with the team on the road trip. However, I think he should sit out of the rising stars challenge on saturday.

I like how Spurs fans post that to somehow show that Manu is better than Dirk.

There's a reason why Dirk is on there with no other Dallas teammate. Manu couldn't lead a team of scrubs to the finals like Dirk did back in '06.

Only players to really do that are Hakeem, Duncan and Dirk.

Yea dirk and Manu shouldn't be grouped. Manu actually plays defense

Dirk's an average defender. He does pretty well against Lamarcus Aldridge.

Regardless, Dirk's Top 15 All-time. Something Manu can only dream of.

Let me know when Manu can lead a team to the finals with someone like Josh Howard as his 2nd option.

Where does anyone in this thread say anything about Manu being better than Dirk? It's just objectively showing active players with the best winning percentage. It's actually used in context as the thread is about a Spurs record. The ***** envy is strong with some of you Mavs fans.

Someone posted it on facebook as Dirk smack. And this thread felt appropriate.

Masterplan, calm down. It's just a picture. And nothing on it is false.

It's also true that Robert Horry has 7 championships.

Damn Masterplan, take it easy. Dirk isn't even mentioned here.

Can't discuss the Spurs without a Mavs comment. I suspect that'll never change.

Haha, damn. Manu doesn't lead teams to the finals. We understand that. Where are Spurs fans claiming this?

This thread has been a pretty good laugh.

That's exactly what it shows. It doesn't show who is the better player.

Dirk is a fantastic player. Is that what you wanted to here, Masterplan?

Manu led a team of scrubs to win a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics.

If Manu weren't so prone to injury, he would be considered one of the top 10 players of the decade (2000-2010) and the Spurs would likely have another title. Absolute beast when healthy.
