Theres no doubt that Morey will make a trade. thats just what he does. who's going and who's coming in?

He should at the very least entertain offers for Martin and Scola. Courtney Lee should be the starter on this team as it is IMO, so think Morey should at least figure out what he could receive for KMart.

And as for Scola, it's very similar to Martin's situation. Scola's defense has gotten worse over the years, but he has the ability to drop 20 points any given night which would give him some trade value. And now that we have Dalembert at Center, I wouldn't feel too uncomfortable starting Patterson or Hill at the 4 to replace Luis, assuming Morey finds a good trade that helps the team.

I just don't want him to make a trade simply to make a trade. This team can definitely improve if the right trade is made, but sometimes Morey can get trade happy and make moves that don't really make sense

Dragic is an UFA and will probably command a decent salary on the open market next year. He's my odds on favorite to be traded in some sort of deal whether it is with Scola or Martin or both. I'd love it if they could pull a Dragic, Scola, and picks for Gasol trade, but that's not realistic.

Frankly, I question Scola and Martin's value in the open market and that's why I doubt a huge trade will be made. Both are good players, but Martin is one dimensional and pretty expensive for what he brings. And Scola, while he can score... he really pretty much an average power forward for what is in the league right now. I think both of those guys will end up playing out their contracts as Rockets simply because it will be hard to get a 'fair' deal for those guys to make up what they bring to the table as Rockets.

Everybody says we won't trade Lowry, but I would if the right offer came along.

I'm all for acquiring Gasol, even if it means giving up Lowry. We would all love to get Deron Williams or Dwight Howard, but Williams will be a Maverick next season, and Howard might be as well. Neither is going to be a Rocket in 2013.

Gasol at least would give us one legitimate all-star and something to build around. If we were to swap Lowry and Scola for Gasol, we can bring Sergio Llull over next season and then who knows what else Morey can do to surround Gasol? It's more interesting than what they have currently, and if it doesn't work, you're rebuilding in three years when Gasol's contract is up with a team that will actually get a high pick as opposed to the constant mediocrity of the past few years.

Not only do I hate Gasol, but I really think that take away Kobe and hes not that good. Hes aging and by no means can carry a team.

Agree. I think Pau is very overhyped. He's not a guy that we would absolutely need, much less build a franchise around

Gasol is overrated but in this sense Lowry isn't?

Lowry is not going anywhere. He's playing at or close to an All-Star level.

I think a combo of twill, bud, Morris, or thabeet will be gone for picks.

Morey is a great GM. His team is fourth in the Western Conference without a star player. It isn't his fault that TMac and Yao couldn't stay healthy.

Morey doesn't want to move Lowry, but all the speculation that he is untouchable is just that.

The Rockets will make a trade or two because Daryl Morey always makes a trade. Could be a big deal, but probably two or three smaller deals to tweak this team for the playoffs.

^ I tend to agree with this.

My guess is if Morey is trying to get Gasol here he is trying to do so without giving up Lowry. Possibly giving up Martin and Scola.

I'd love to have Gasol in Houston, but I don't think it's happening. There's no way the Lakers let him go for anything less than a package getting either Rondo or D. Howard coming back their way.

I like Lowry a lot, but a package of him and Scola isn't near enough to nab a player of Gasol's caliber let along Scola and Martin.

I dont see it happening, but I do think the Rockets need to get SOMETHING for Scola ASAP. His stock is falling every day until he retires. We should have traded him last year.

kevin martin might be the worst defender in the league

Monta Ellis is the worst defender in the league. Despite his prolific scoring, he's still posted a negative plus/minus versus his bench players during his time in Golden State.

Kevin Martin's defensive issues are over-exaggerated. He's not a good defender, but he's not a godawful one. If you have another wing player who is a solid defender to take the other team's best wing player, you hardly notice his defensive deficiencies.

This team has too many Forwards, i dont understand why we are considering Gasol. We NEED guards that play both sides of the floor. well. every night. This team is just BEGGING for a star player of some kind that they can play around.

Ive read stuff on ESPN about a Celtics-Rockets trade that lands Paul Pierce in Houston, and, I cant believe im saying this, Im not completely against it. Imagine the starting lineup:

PG- Kyle Lowry
SG- Paul Pierce
SF- Chandler Parsons
PF- Luis Scola
C- Samuel Dalembert

Pierce bring the scoring, leadership, PASSION (something this club and fan base lacks), and star quality we need

We are considering Gasol because he is a top 15 player in the league and a star, while our team is full of a bunch of try-hard grunts and role players (with the exception of Lowry). Paul Pierce is a declining asset and he will not age well.

It was just speculation from some poster, but I really hope Morey isn't ready to gut the team for Pau Gasol. I would be livid.

Dragic is a FA next year that would leave with us only flynn...terrible trade...pau sucks and he smells.

Kevin Martin needs to be shipped out immediately. He looked awful yet again last night.

I think he has value to a team that has multiple guys that can get into the paint and create open shots for perimeter shooters.

Somebody like the clippers, Knicks, Lakers, and Bulls who are all very good teams that could go deep into the playoffs but at the same time could use a spot up shooter to add that final piece. Not sure who we could get of any value off those rosters but just a team like that. With the rockets he just looks lost in our offense at times, standing around and not being able to get open looks.
