Now that Deron is pretty much a lock for next year, who else is out there to sign as a FA (for the Mavs)? Haywood could possibly get Amnestied, Terry will be a free agent, Kidd could look elsewhere, and we've got a lot of guys with one year deals. Beyond Dirk, Deron, and Marion there are a lot of holes for the 2012-2013 Mavs. And yes, I've given up on this season.

EDIT: And I'm willing to bet Dwight won't be an option for the Mavs next Summer. Probably won't have enough money and Dirk would be 35.

I'd like to keep JET to be honest. I think this actually the best possible scenario, get Deron to replace Kidd and keep JET and Marion with Dirk as your core. Anyone else (I'm looking at you Lamar) is expendable.

I think Kaman will be bought out soon by NOH and the Mavs will be the front runners to sign him due to the German connection - Dirk finally does some recruiting

Then re-sign Kaman long term and add DWill. Sign Kidd to a vet min contract. Definitely keep Marion and definitely trade Odoms waivable contract to a beach team. Maybe keep Haywood - no need to amnesty him until it's absolutely necessary. Dont know about what to do with Jet.

I haven't looked at the numbers yet, but need to see everything that needs to be cut/amnestied/traded in order to make room for Deron's max contract.

Looked at the numbers and I believe they can sign Deron without trading Marion and without amnestying Haywood. They would have to trade Odom, Roddy B and DoJo for picks/cap space which shouldn't be a problem.

Marion 8.4mm
Haywood 8.3mm
Cap holds for 8 players: .473*8= 3.8mm
Total: 58.5mm

Salary cap is expected to be somewhere from 58-62mm.

I would rather have Haywood and the amnesty option than Kaman. Kaman doesn't play enough defense to be the primary center.

Could they amnesty Haywood and sign JeT? I'd rather roll with a cheap Mahinmi than an expensive Haywood.

Sign Deron this summer and sign Dwight next summer when they have more cap space.

Dirk can be the 3rd option for all I care. And he probably doesn't mind I bet. He'll just get the ball and sink jump shots like he's been doing his whole career.

Kinda wish the Mavs had paid to keep Tyson now. Deron, Dirk and Chandler would be a great core
