It was cool to see us with the 14th, 15th, and 21st pick in the latest 2012 mock draft.

They need to trade all three of those, plus any current player combination for a shot at Anthony Davis of Kentucky.

I say trade Scola and Martin and maybe one of those 1st round picks to someone for a higher pick. Get either Barnes, Lamb, or Beal. Then use the other 1st round pick on Royce if he is still available. In the 2nd round, get a big PF or C who can play immediately as Dalemberts backup.

Dragic is a scorer and can play the 2 while we let the draftee learn and get settled. Bud can play the 2 also in short spurts. His defense has improved alot. If you can get Camby, then whatever our 2nd round pick is can go mature in the D league.

I wish the rockets would just completely rebuild, this would be a great year to start, since we have three first round picks. I hope they get rid of Martin and Scola during the offseason, draft well and get young, maybe get lucky down the road with a major free agent.

This crap of being a 7 or 8 seed every year will never end, if Morey doesn't give up on trading for other teams mid level talented players, hoping to trade them for super stars.

Also don't get rid of the dragon Goran Dragic.

Rockets fans need to come to the realization that a combination of Scola and Martin is never going to land a blockbuster player or draft pick. Both players are very average starters who are paid better than average for their position.

Gotta come to grips that Lowery is probably going to have to go along with picks and probably other stuff if you want the Rockets to move to the top of the draft.

Martin has an expiring contract so that makes him a better prospect and for a team that needs additional scoring..I think they can get a good player in return.

Dragic is too small to play the 2 they need to ship lowry out...

Except for the fact the Davis is pretty quick, can dribble, move, and has a little bit of touch around the basket as well as being pretty athletic overall, Thabeet seems like a great comparison.

Don't see the urgency in trading Lowry. He's not going to get you in the top 3 anyways. IMO we could trade our 3 first round picks and only get to about the 5-7 pick.

Anthony Davis seems more like a young Marcus Camby.

I think y'all are forgetting how dominant Thabeet was in college. Davis is just like him. Very tall and very thin. He will need to get much much stronger if he wants to have success at the pro level. You can rely on height and length to dominate the paint in college. The pros is a whole new ballgame

A combo of Scola/ Martin/ and a draft pick to someone like the Cavs would definitely work.

They get a good scorer, an above average PF, and a pick.

They then have a core of those two plus Kyrie. Both of those guys are immediate starters and make them a playoff team with the supporting cast they have.

Thabeet was dominant against Elonu and good against everyone else. Davis has a jump shot, is super quick, and doesn't just fill space like Thabeet. He's a much more complete player. Camby's an ok comparison, but I think he has many more offensive tools than Camby ever did.

Why would the Cavs take on $22 million+ of salary and move down in the draft given their situation? It makes no sense for them especially since they just took a very young 4 with a top 5 pick last season.

That makes absolutely no sense why the Cavs would trade away a high draft pick for a couple aging players. They're going young.

Additionally, Scola and Martin aren't magically lifting the Cavs 10 games over what they have now. They need way more than just those 2 to sniff the playoffs.

FACE/PALM. Thabeet got his lunch eaten twice by DeJuan Blair in the Big East. The comparison isn't close. I agree with the Camby comparison.

As far as wanting Harrison Barnes, come on. If you want to talk 2.0's then Harrison Barnes has Marvin Williams 2.0 writte all over him.

Barnes will be an outstanding pro if he gets paired up w/ a great PG who can set him up. If not, he'll be a huge bust.

The guy I'm shocked isn't higher on mock drafts is Kendall Marshall. A 6'4" true point guard seems like he could be a huge rock for a hurting franchise. Right now Ford's latest mock draft has him going #12 to the Hornets (who would sorely need him), but that seems like a lot of bad teams who need point guards would be passing on him. How could the Blazers afford to pass on him twice?

Guess we'll have to wait and see then.

We don't need him unless we let Dragic walk. Im scared thats what they are going to do.

A backcourt rotation of some combination of Lowry, Dragic, and Lee makes me happy and I want to keep it.

Not many will be willing to trade down in the draft given how teams like OKC and Minnesota have followed the draft, not free agency, as the model for a franchise turnaround. Also, this is the deepest draft in several years. Wish the rockets could send a player or two with one of those eben if it only moved us up 4 or five spots. Either way having 3 picks in the mid first will be great!

I wouldn't trade any of the draft picks. With the depth of this years draft class its not out of the realm of possibility that you would get two quality guys. I think I would be happy if a Jared Sullinger or John Henson fell to me at 15. Then grabbing a Terrence Ross type guy to solidify the 2 would be just fine by me.
