The Wolverines will be a title contender next season with this excellent news. With him and Hardaway back, along with a superb recruiting class, Michigan B-ball is finally back on its way to the top tier. Thank you Coach Beilein.

Burke coming back is huge. Nice to finally stop the bleeding of fringe NBA guys that had been jumping ship early (manny harris in '10 and darius morris last year).

Yep. Since Harris and Morris both left early and were 2nd Round Picks, Burke definitely made the right decision (although I think Burke will is a better talent than both of them). And anyone else think that if you take a scholarship in b-ball, you should be required to play at least 2 years. I think that is pretty reasonable.

I'm more of a free-market guy who feels players should not be forced to go to college, and should be eligible to be drafted by an NBA team once they are SRs in high school.

Only way I would be ok with the 2-yr rule is if they adopted a MLB-type draft where essentially anyone but freshmen are "entered" into the draft, but you don't lose your eligibility and can go/return to school even if drafted.

The NBA is punishing the kids (forcing them into school, keeping them from making $) because of the failures if the NBA scouting system. It is hypocritical and self-serving to claim they are doing it for the kids

Totally agree with you on this one. I would love it if NBA/NCAA would implement a similar system to the MLB. High School cats that are ready can take a chance at the draft, but if you take a scholarship you have to wait until 2 years later to enter the draft.

A star driven sport can't afford to lose the top 20 players available annually to the NBA. That's the number of guys (perhaps even more) that would jump if you made them stay two years. The lack of talent in college basketball would help teams like ours compete, but would deplete the quality of play to such slow and methodical levels that it would mirror the almost completely irrelevant sport that is college baseball.

The ideal scenario is to force 2 and done on EVERYONE. I can't think of single 2 and done player that hasn't helped his team in college get deep in the NCAA tournament AND helped his team greatly and immediately.

Did this come from google translate? I cannot tell what point is trying to be made here.
