I'm going with 10 games - the last regular season game plus 9 more. Which will effectively be a rest of the season suspension after the Lakers get swept in Round 2.

I will be very shocked if he actually gets suspended for the year, even though he absolutely deserves to. I'm guessing for the first round of the playoffs. I hope that thug doesn't come back though

I've heard a lot of push for "Harden's absence +2 games".

The NBA ought to start going that direction. If it is clear that you intentionally took a guy out like that, you have to be out AT LEAST 2 games longer than he is. If Harden's skull were fractured and he was out for the playoffs, would it be fair for Artest to get the same 5-game penalty (or whatever it is) as what he'll get for a concussion? I don't think so, particularly if the Lakers and Thunder face each other at some point.

What Artest did was more severe than what Love did (just watch the videos), and Artest has a long, long history.

Even if the actions were equivalent, we don't have a moron T-Wolves fan cluttering up every thread with off-the-wall BS, so we don't think about them as much.

1. People were pissed off. There was at least one thread devoted to how pathetic that move was. Plus, it was widely discussed in the Rockets thread (since he stepped on Scola's face). So there was much more conversation about it than what you are saying.

2. Has Kevin Love ever gone in the stands before to attack fans? Has Kevin Love had multiple suspensions for his inability to control his anger? What Love did was awful. Nobody is suggesting otherwise. But you would have to be a moron to ever give Artest the benefit of the doubt in anything because he has such a long history of bush league sh*t like this. If Love had the same reputation as Artest, it probably would have been more than 2 games.

Artest is a thug who has had multiple outbreaks just like the one he had yesterday. Clearly he still hasn't learned his lesson if he continues to pull stunts like this. There needs to be a significant punishment

Thanks for the video. It conclusively demonstrates, for anybody who has seen video of the Artest elbow, that, while what Love did was trash and deserved the two games it got (despite the fact that he does not have a history of being suspended), it was not as severe as what Artest did.

There were plenty of threads on the Kevin Love stomp. I know because I probably made a stupid comment on at least one of them.

C'mon man. Kevin Love made a really dirty play after getting tangled up and stepping over Scola. He's a professional and must control himself, but as a first offender, two games is probably warranted. As mentioned, Artest is a mad dog. This isn't his first incident. Furthermore, Artest's play was far worse.

Oh, and I think he should be out for the season. Ron's a ticking time bomb.

Talk about the elephant in the room. With all the talk about fouls and suspensions, there's virtually no coverage of the fact that Ron Artest is probably certifiably insane. He doesn't need to be on a basketball court, he needs to be in a managed care facility.

I hate Ron Artest as much as the next guy, but was that intentional?

It's almost like it isn't intentional in the sense that he means to hit Harden specifically, but he's so out of control that whomever was around him was going to get some sort of blow.

So odd.

If you watch the full clip it's obvious that he knows Harden is coming towards him and he knew who he took out based on his reaction immediately afterward.

He winds up to use his elbow violently. He wasn't just flailing around.
