Boo. Really wanted to see what he could do with a few weeks to regain some form. Sucks anytime a great team loses a star early on. Spurs fans can relate. Reminds me of Duncan circa 2000.

Feel really bad for rose. Wonder if BigW and Deluxe are alive.

At least the Spurs lost Duncan before the end of the regular season. This hurts more with the expectations so high. Hope he can recover fully for next year.

Simmons already calling this an asterisk season? I disagree. The Heat would have been favored to beat the Bulls with or without Rose, and Rose already has a history of getting injured/has a style of play that promotes injury.

I like Simmons, but come on, seriously? Injuries are part of the sport.

Yeah, with only 4 games to go in the regular season of 82 games. Not much different.

Without Rose in the lineup Miami's road to the Finals just got a little easier.....

Doesn't matter. The 2000 Spurs weren't beating the Lakers that year.

Why was he still in a game with a 12 point lead, 1:10 left and the #1 seed in the East already wrapped up?

The Knicks also lost their best perimeter defender in Shumpert today.

Throw in no Dwight Howard and Miami now has the easiest road to the NBA Finals since the Cleveland in 2007.

This is not on Thibs. It was a non-contact injury. Could have happened at any time. That's a move DRose makes all the time.

The game isn't over at that point, i would bet most starters play up 12 in a playoff game at the 1 minute mark

The last dead ball before the injury was at 2:43 and the Bulls were up by 14.

14 point leads are not safe in the NBA with over 2 and a half minutes left.

Blame the owners/players/lockout/shortened season if you want something to blame, but not Thibs. More of a fluke.

Just like this didn't matter. The 2012 Bulls weren't beating the Heat this year.

It's not like the Bulls swept the heat the year before.

Makes the playoffs a little less fun to watch. The Bulls will not beat the heat without rose. Hell they are in big trouble against Boston now.

That IS on Thibs. Philly hadn't shown they could beat the 2nd team. A 14pt. lead with less than a minute is a perfect time to put in the back-up PG, ESPECIALLY when your starting PG is coming back off of injury.

It wasn't 14 points and it wasn't less than a minute.

Putting this on the coach because of the game situation in this case is STUPID.

If you want to blame him for playing Rose heavy minutes throughout the year, then fine. But it was not a dumb thing to have him in at that point. It was a playoff game. You don't take chances on losing a playoff game by being overly cautious about nonexistent or potential injuries. That's a formula for being a loser.

This wasn't the result of a shortened season, either. The way he cuts and stops and pivots and contorts his body is what makes him so good and also what lends himself tO these vicious injuries. He will be out of the league by the time he is thirty if he doesn't change his game.

this is all on Thibs. Philly wasnt doing anything. they were not going to come back. Also if Thibs was as confident in CJ and JL3 as he says he is, they would of been out there to close the game. Rose missed a third of the season due to injuries. he should of been more careful with his minutes. If i was a bulls fan id be pissed and might even be calling for the coaches head. With a 11 pt lead and a minute to play i guarantee that Pop, Doc, Eric S, or any coach with an All NBA player who has been hurt for most of the season wouldnt have the All NBA player out there.

So I guess you like Lionel Collins playing the Memphis bench a lot through that 4th quarter the other night?

Funny how crazy comebacks can happen in such short time.

This wasn't a pulled hamstring or something that you would expect from tired player.

His knee was just a time bomb. If it didn't happen in 4th quarter, it might have been in 3rd minute of game two.

It's a shame too. I predicted Heat were gonna win it all this year. But I was really looking forward to Heat/Bulls series. I thought that would be their biggest test.

one minute and a whole quarter are completely different. also Collins didnt express that their backups were good enough to start on the majority of other teams. you dont say that and then not let them play. Thibs messed up.

false. i have had friends blow their ACL and have a few friends that are doctors. The argument that it was a time bomb is false. My friends have asked their doctors if it was a matter of time or it was just a freak accident. Both times they said it was just a freak accident. Even a Chicago Sports Radio host Dan Bernstein said that he blew his knee out. When he asked his doctor if it was just a matter of time or just an accident the doctor said accident.

Blaming Thibs for Rose's injury is just stupid. The game was not over. You don't mess around in a playoff game like that. If you want to blame anyone, blame the players for letting the Sixers make it close enough to make it necessary to play the starters.

Your friends who talked to their doctors probably didn't do dime stopping jump stops while contorting their body in weird positions for a living.

D Rose is absolutely at a higher risk for ACL injury just by being on the floor more and playing his style.

In a sense, it was only a matter of time until he suffered some type of significant ligament damage.

Again, this isn't like football that you have a dead ball after every play. It isn't like there was any opportunity to take him out and no coach in the NBA is going to stop the clock with 70 seconds left just to take out a player with that lead. None.

Just a freak accident and not Thibs fault.

Actually both of my friends play basketball almost daily. And if Rose has a higher risk shouldnt he not be in the game when the lead is 10+ with about a minute to play? Especially considering Rose's injuries this season. He shouldn't of been out there. Also 80% of the leagues guards play like Rose and they dont get ACL tears. Wade, LeBron, Kobe, Durant, Westbrook, Parker, Ginobili, etc don't have ACL injuries. It was a freak accident, but he shouldnt of even been in the game at that point.
