it's going to be spurs threads on here for a long time. most people on Texags are from Texas. There are 3 Texas NBA teams, and only one of them is still playing. Everyone else has lost or is losing interest.

Well my original plan was to put up playoff highlights off all three Texas teams this year, but.....well.....you know.

And the reason it's a good play is because it took the team into the locker room with momentum, and it showed how the Spurs take absolutely every second of every game seriously.

They spread the floor and executed every assignment to design...and at the same time it forced the Jazz (and their fans) to realize that they simply couldn't hold the lead with as little as 3.5 seconds in the half.

Please post a list of acceptable Texags.com Basketball-Other thread subjects. Dumb it down so that we masses can understand what is appropriate and what isn't appropriate. Don't forget about such classics as:

"Shaq on TNT"
"Anyone read that Grantland piece about the Artest brawl in Detroit?"
"Shane Battier to Miami."
"Not a good look for Antoine Wright."

That last one is a personal favorite of mine.

Yes...Spurs is the only team that will draw up a play during a time-out to try to score before the quarter ends. Basketball was invented by Popovich and the Spurs

This board amazes me. I really think some people would prefer to have basketball played by people who tried to dunk from half court all the time. Just appreciate the damn play.

The main thing that was impressive is that that play has obviously been choreographed and practiced many times. Lots of teams will draw up a play, but it's usually a vanilla pick and pop that works just as well for .7 seconds as 8 seconds.

That play will work for 3.3-5 seconds. Any less time and Manu wouldn't have had time to make the pass (and he knew that he had time to make it or he never would have tried it); any more time and the defense wouldn't have felt that they could leave Bonner. The lob pass on the fade route meant that Manu's defender was out of position as long as the pass was good, which forced the rest of the defense to either concede the layup or leave a shooter open.

ok, so its not ok to start a thread if someone gets 19 blocked shots, but it is ok if they get 20. gotcha.

It was a great play. Nothing wrong with Spurs fans getting excited about the way their team is performing. If you want to have some more discussions about other teams like the Rox, start some threads on the Travel Board.

Please tell me where I said I hated the Spurs. I said I hated the thread. Could be about the Lakers, the Yankees, the Might Ducks. Who cares. Short of someone launching a Knuckle Puck, there's no point in creating an entire thread to glorify a play at the end of a second quarter in a non-elimination game. Honestly, it was good play, but outside of that, what was so special about it? It was a diagrammed play that I'm sure has been run a thousand times by Spurs and other teams. Big whoop.

What the hell are you talking about? Someone tried to used Grantland as validation of why it would be cool to hop on this play's nuts. It was a nice play, that's it. Grantland also writes about Audrina Patridge and R. Kelly. Doesn't mean you should run out and make a thread about it just because they did.

Dude, it's called a triple-double. Not a triple-nine or a double-double-and-almost-another-double-in-this-other-category. You'd probably make a thread for a guy reaching 2,900 hits.

Again. This isn't a Spurs-hating post. Get over yourself. I'd have an issue with this regardless of team. This was a nice play. That's it. It didn't win the game, much less a series. It wasn't a career milestone. Nothing. There's a reason why people don't make threads to highlight a Kenneth Faried rebound. It's the same reason why threads like this should be added to the series thread or the Spurs season thread.

Just unnecessary clutter. I don't like it. Come at me, bro.

You should get all mad about someone posting a thread about basketball on the basketball board, that seems like a smart thing to do.
