Howard has the maturity of an 8th-grader. No one will win with him until he grows up.

Dwight didn't need a new coach. He needed a new GM.

Stan Van Gundy did many things I didn't agree with, but he is still one of the very few coaches in the NBA that will openly challenge and demand a lot from a superstar player. Where did that get him? Fired.

Not defending Howard, but Van Gundy could have handled things better by not running to the press to announce that Howard wanted him fired.

It didn't exactly help the team atmosphere.

Although I've absolutely despised Dwight for years, I've felt the same way about Stan during that time. He constantly *****es and moans and throws players under the bus, and him airing his grievances with the team to the media was unprofessional. I don't think he understands that it's one thing to rag on one of your players to the media and another to actually give some constructive criticism. Dwight needed a stern father figure type coach to help him mature, but instead he got the dewshbag uncle.
