I'm honestly suprised he came out and said this but I have no problem packaging Lowry and resigning goran. Lowry/Martin or Lowry/Scola should draw a decent return, a player around the talent level of Gasol. Actually wouldn't be suprised at all if that's what happens.

Off-court issues (such as this) aside, how is he as a player? I haven't watched a lot of Rockets games this season (read: zero), but Lowry intrigues me. Type of player? Strengths? Weaknesses?

Wouldn't you have to have watched at least some Rockets games to be intrigued by him? Are people just talking him up big time around you all the time?

Meh. I Would rather keep the Dragon anyways. I would like for him to stay, but if he continues to act like he's entitled to everything, I won't lose any sleep if we part ways with him.

I'm torn on whether or not Lowry and Dragic can play lengthy stretches of games at the same time...that is a seriously small and defensively deficient backcourt. If they could trade one of them along with another player to upgrade the center position, then do it. Camby and Dalembert are serviceable, but nothing more. The question becomes "who can you get?" They tried to get Pau at the beginning of this past season...Dwight Howard ain't happening. Pau is skilled offensively and maybe a change of scenery would re-energize him, but he's about to be 32 and he's not a strong defender, which has been the Rockets' achilles heel. That said, he'd be un upgrade at the 5.

The Rockets need to make something happen, good or bad. This malaise of mediocrity has got to be broken...they're not a bad team, but this team as constructed has 42-40 written all over it...again. If a year or two of crapitude would lead to an OKC-like resurrection, then go forth and lose.

Yeah I've never said anything like that, nor have I heard anyone say anything like that. Not sure where you came up with that. But I do find it odd that your name seems to pop up in every thread regarding the Rockets, even when your team is in the Conference Finals right now

yup. you're exactly right. there's no way i could have seen highlights on sportscenter, or read about him on texags, or looked at boxscores/stats.

Very good player, and I think you can win if he is the second best player on your team. That said, he is a turd. I am just sick of players demanding trades and personnel changes.

lowry definitely is in no position to run his mouth. get him out of here and let Gogi run the show. i agree a lowry/scola or lowry/martin package could bring in a nice piece to the puzzle that is never completely put together.

This news is upping the value of Dragic new contract.


Lowry is an above average pg that is a bargain for the money he is being paid. The Rockets should get a pretty good deal for him, and I think the Rockets should get more than what the Grizzlies got for him (late 1st rounder) when they grew a little weary of his act and traded him to Houston.

Still, a good player at a very good contract rate.
