I've said many times that I think he's one of the best slashing pointguards in the league, if not THE best. He can score tons of different ways when he's near the basket and his midrange shot % is rock solid too.

Also, his court vision and passing ability are underrated. He generally makes great decisions for the Spurs

More spurs threads? We need more lakers threads for fairness, obviously.

Parker's play tonight was insane. By and large, the spurs were getting good looks. Parker, however, was taking tough shots, the man just couldn't miss. He played out of his mind.

Yea I wouldn't say Russell westbrook is playing bad defense at all. They just keep running him through screens and he's not getting much help.

I heard some of the Thunder players say as much as well, but I don't think they were watching the same game. Very few times did I see anyone have a hand in his face. Tony has always been a fantastic finisher in the lane, but he can hit that jump shot all night long if you let him.

I will say that I highly doubt he will shoot 70%+ very often. But on a lot of those he was open. Just because there were bodies in the vicinity of him doesn't mean they were challenging the shot...

Eh, the D wasn't great, but he was still curling around screens and pulling up abruptly. To shoot 75% on those 18-20 footers is damn impressive.

He made about 5 tough shots, the rest were very comfortable looks for him.

The shots that Parker are making is wide open shots. No one is putting a hand up at all.

I don't know if you think this indicates that he isn't playing as well as his stats indicate, but if you do, you must have a tough time watching basketball.

Every PG in the league runs off of screens, not many shoot 76% from the field, bro.

I bet they hit 76% from wide open 15' shots.

I think the point here was that Tony isn't having to take tough shots. Shooting at a 75% clip is probably not going to happen very often, but if he gets those looks consistently he is going to shoot a high percentage most of the time.

Durant even so much as said Tony was just making tough shots with a hand in his face which could not be farther from the truth. Heck, one time he was so wide open he stepped up to get closer to his range. It isn't Westbrook's fault, but if Durant doesn't think the defense needs to change, they are just hoping that Tony has a bad night shooting.

OKC is in really bad shape if they think they were covering Parker. I agree that he only took about 5 really difficult shots, I'm pretty sure he could have ordered a pizza on that one 3 pointer that they left him all alone in the corner.

FWIW I think Duncan is the one who will kill OKC in the next game. Manu lit them up in Game 1 and so they focused on him. Then Parker did it in Game 2, now I think it is Timmy's turn. I especially think this will happen because they are likely to go small to keep Perkins out of the game as Tony was leaving him dazed and confused on pick and rolls all night.

The really scary thing for OKC is if the Spurs don't essentially take out all their starters to rest in that game and allow them to do "hack a Splitter" and drive on the 2nd team that game probably never gets under double digits. OKC played great, their Big 3 all had strong games and made tough shots all night and yet they weren't really close. They are going to give it everything they have in this next game but I think the Spurs also smell blood in the water and know that they are 48 minutes of focused basketball away from putting their biggest competition in an 0-3 hole. Should be a great game.

They are going to be waiting a long time for Parker to have an off night if they keep letting him have open, rhythm 18 foot jumpers. That is his favorite non-layup shot, and he is very efficient with it.
