Tom Benson owns the team.

The team that received surprise buttsecks from Chris Paul has the first pick when they should have been 3rd. I do find that suspect.

Nope NBA sold them but I bet the NBA told the new owners that if they buy them, well give you the 1st pick.

Straight chalk other than the hornets... The odds of that cannot be very high. Didn't they use to do the draw live on tv? That would've been much more interesting them watching them open some rigged envelopes.

Its been rigged since 1984...

As of now the team is still owned by the NBA. And who's to say that David Stern didn't promise the #1 pick as an enticement to Benson to buy that ****ty team? Have you seen their roster? It's so bad you'd think Michael Jordan was their GM.

The Hornets aren't in a terrible position.

They have cap space to sign a major free agent.

They have the #1 and #10 draft pick in the draft.

They have Eric Gordon, who is a very quality SG. They have a decent PF in Jarret Jack and a solid post off the bench in Jason Smith. They are young, but in 2 or 3 years, they can have a really good team building around Gordan and Anthony Davis.

They should draft Dash Harris with the #10 pick.

Didn't they physically select the ping pong balls live on TV in the past? I know it could still be rigged by doing that as well, but it looks a hell of a lot better using that method as opposed to having the order already determined in envelopes before the show even starts.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist usually, but this does seem a little fishy

judging by past winners there is no way the draft is rigged... new jersey getting the pick would be rigged

anthony davis stated many times this year that he has grown up a hornets fan and if you follow the guy on twitter he was always tweeting about them. and plus black athletes are always wearing hats that have cool logos on them.

That's not what ESPN said on their lottery broadcast tonight. They called him the future owner. He was there and didn't disagree.

If the league fix was in, Houston would win. Biggest TV market in the draft.

Not real excited to see another lottery winner in the Southwest Division.

I doubt that it was rigged but they need to bring the live drawing back, there is enough suspicion about the NBA as it is without a team being sold by the league who got screwed in the CP3 trade earlier in the year somehow winning the lottery; looks like a gift.

Good thing they "rigged" the draft so San Antonio could get Tim Duncan and David Robinson....

That cap he is wearing in the pic referenced above is a CHARLOTTE hornets cap. On the Dan Patrick show today, he said he was a huge Jordan fan growing up in Chicago, and that his Mom wanted him to go to Charlotte and play for Jordan, he also has lots of friends in Charlotte, blah blah blah.

So obviously he wasn't wearing that cap because he wanted to go to New Orleans or because he knew he was going to New Orleans.
