Can't believe this didn't happen 4 or 5 years ago. Now, if they can just punish refs for giving preferential foul treatment to superstars. NBA...still a joke of a league.

They haven't done anything, just talking about it.

Even if they do implement a system, I'll bet it's neutered. If you want to stop it, you make big fines. If that doesn't work, you suspend them. Just like technical fouls.

The best thing they could do is publicize it. PGA fines guys all the time, but it's a secret. If NBA wants to stop it, then they must publicly humiliate Wade and his kind.

The NBA is the worst officiated league in all pro sports. Something needs to change. I'm good with the idea of fines and suspensions. Put pressure on the officials to make consistent calls

This thread sucks.

NBA Refs have had their issues and they have been well documented. That being said, basketball is a very fast game that is extremely difficult to referee. Just the nature of the game. Don't like it? Stop watching basketball because it is true in any league from little dribblers to the pros.

3 years too late - let's see how they follow through this time

I think you have to treat them similar to flagrant foul reviews, but still not have the refs stop down the game to review the flops. Punishments should be saved for the flops where absolutely no contact occurs, and it should be a significant fine/suspension. With everything else involving contact there's too much grey area, and it will only further reward floppers that are the best actors.

The players are intentionally making it more difficult to officiate. There's nothing wrong with trying to make the players play the game instead of the refs.

sorry brah, but you're blatantly a fugging idiot. So, according to Einstein here we'll just keep letting it go until it becomes soccer flop-wise. You're telling me they can't tell the difference between a blatant flop and good defense in real time? So, we can see it on the tv screen, but the refs can't see it 3 feet away? Please don't tell people where you graduated from/are still going to when you use flawed logic like that. You'll make the rest of us look bad.

Well that wasn't very nice.

Missing the part where I said this....

Well obviously some calls are easier to make than others, but as has been noted constantly on this board, some players have perfected the art of flopping and are really goot at it. Not to mention we have benefit of 4 angles, and slo mo. Not all flops are as easy to see as you make it sound. Some are/some aren't

I never said the NBA shouldn't do anything about flopping. It is annoying and it bugs me as much as anyone. In the meantime, there is no point in bashing refs for not enforcing a anti-flopping rule that doesn't exist yet

The channel button is right next to the volume button on your remote. Think it is a joke, don't watch.

Yeah, I said real-time, so 4 angles and slo mo are irrelevant to this conversation. Yes, I realize some have perfected the art of flopping, but at least several times in each game you can notice blatant flops on tv in real time (i.e. not 3 feet away like the ref's point of view). Especially in these playoffs...

And, for the rest of you, if you are on board with the current reffing in the NBA to the point where you tell me to change the channel, you're out of control.

I'll always love NBA basketball (and my Mavs), but if you ask me which league is better officiated (NCAA vs NBA), I think the choice should be in-your-face obvious. In college ball, fouls are fouls, and the "stars" are treated just like every other player. I love how you guys are offended by me calling it a joke of a league. Grow a pair.
